83 degrees, all time winter record for Oakland
Yes, it's been cold in the East this winter - but the western half of the country has been insanely, record warm. Salt Lake City a great example, as it set warmest avg winter temp record by a larger margin than the difference between #2 and #10. SLC also only had 2.5" of snow. tinyurl.com/yc85dbwr
Anyone seen any yellow billed magpies in the valley recently? I remember them common as crows but I haven’t see any in dozens of drives across the valley in recent years

Might head up for August 8. Would be third trip up there for a concert this year ...
Alaska increasing again, going to 4x on OAK-PDX July 1, finally recognizing Southwest is not interested in this route anymore
After 6+ weeks of cold in the east, it was our turn, and we ended up with ~5 days of anomalously cold weather before warm weather returns here and they get another snow storm 🫤
Is this an annual thing now?
As forecast by the NWS, and read by me, Downtown SF and Oakland both are having their coldest morning since Wednesday, not "in years." This is routine winter cold, close to seasonally low temps in our new super warm winters.

"But there's one exception" - people with lodging reservations. Is there any detail too mundane to fashion into a mystery clickbaity headline?
Last time it was NWS' fault for issuing unwarranted Extreme Cold Warning. This is the Chron fudging the difference between valley cold and urban cool to get a clickbaity headline, and getting details wrong while they do it.
Downtown SF was 39 in Feb and March 2023. The forecast is 42, which would be the coldest low since yesterday (41).
🙄🙄🙄 Lake Merritt is not under an Extreme Cold Warning. The NWS forecast for downtown Oakland is 39, which isn't even the "coldest weather" in days, as it was 38 yesterday.
Large portions freeze in colder periods in colder winters. This winter has been so warm, we would need weeks more cold weather like this to see any large extent freeze.
Low 30s this morning. Just didn’t quite luck out with lingering showers to get low snow.
Lots of snow in Diablo Range and SC Mountains

Maybe tonight 👀
Upper 30s rain in the hills tonight. Snow tomorrow night?
6230 Claremont neighbors looking to learn from the successes of the CCA process - delay and hack away until the proposal is unprofitable and can't be built
I understand that argument ... my desire for Oakland to succeed is a little stronger than my more abstract desire for California to have marginally more population vis-a-vis Texas for EC purposes
