Team performance more than an individual stand out.

But I’ll go for Taylor because of that Thierry Henry style ‘hit the post’ chance

Yeah. Point away from home just edges us a bit closer to safety. I back us to do it #wafc

Satisfactory is the word. Not amazing, not terrible but satisfactory.

Taylor is sensational at this level. How on earth have we got him on loan from another League One club?!?! #wafc

Smashing strike. Rafa did great. Top finish from Moxon. We deserved that #wafc

Chapman beaten in the air far too easily for the goal. #wafc have to protect him in those situations

It was a great goal by Weir and an unbelievable save from Tickle.

But Joe Hungbo changed that game so I go for him

Miles and miles better. We have a chance again #wafc

State of our pitch!!! #wafc

Yeah. I saw that. Player wages at something like 150 per cent turnover. Squad stayed pretty stable this season too 🥹

I saw Burton announced £8m+ losses last week. Wage bill up more than 50 per cent. Obviously a contributing factor to Caldwell returning to #wafc was the Exeter trust recognising their (relatively low) wage bill needs cutting. At least we have a secure owner but the landscape feels frightening

Appreciate it, thanks Will. An unexpected trend after the fan-led review anticipated the other direction. Maybe Sheff Wed’s parlous position might create change. Luton, like us back then maybe created distortions? But there will be others in future. Need for a recruitment equivalent of Lauren Jones?

Appreciated. So - do those figures take into account the cost of paying Lowe off (& hiring Caldwell) or ‘just’ summer and January recruitment (plus contract renewals)?

Obvious club needs to be smarter… but ‘how’ is key question?

Sorry to lean on you Will - but do you know if those figures take into account the Lowe hire, and paying up of contract?

Seems certain costs of running L1 clubs have increased. No denying that. But the #wafc escalation seems wild.

The figures seem unsustainable… hence the worry

The #wafc FAB has some confusing messages. @willjpatterson.bsky.social - were you there? Can you elaborate?

These bits are confusing:

When I read that #wafc ‘should’ve signed Benn Ward’ ahead of Reading, I understand the sentiment but wonder about the probability.

Reading may have more cash than us - we spent coming out of admin too (so we’ll leave that to them) - & both he and Richardson are represented by OmniSports agency

Before the sendings off we might have held on --- but we did look short of quality and numbers at the back. Wing-backs looked better briefed under Caldwell than Lowe, but neither Weir or Murray are natural to the position (Weir did OK) and Sess isnt a wide centre back. Might be a wingback, though

It's Taylor, isnt it?

Hope we dont lose heart tonight.

I really think both reds were soft, and the referee has given them every 50-50, but ill discipline has cost #wafc here

Hard to take, that. But it’s been coming. #wafc

Softest red you’ll see. But he gave the referee the opportunity to send him off #wafc

I know he spent money - but those lads and others were sold for multiples of what they cost. I appreciate that, like all, they needed paying. Freebies like Perkins and Burn also inspired. And others fail with more.

I think the missed penalty cast a long shadow over how some saw him.

We have a new hero!!!!

Problem is that he's on loan.

'Taylor's on fire, your defence is terrified' #wafc

I like Gary Caldwell. I felt really disappointed when he was sacked and think he’s a great fit to #wafc.

But I do think it’s weird that his stock amongst fans might be higher now than when he won the league. I think he is easily our most underrated title winning manager

For definite

Astonishing that their lad is proclaiming innocence here. It’s a yellow all day. Rafa had to go off. Claiming no free kick.

Incredible #wafc

Wing backs without players who play wingback continues to challenge us #wafc

Interesting interview with Lauren Jones, who has also joined #wafc with Caldwell and Perkins: youtu.be/EQnzWQZ444s

All seems to fit quite well with the analytical ways the Dansons see the world generally
