Yesterday I finally had a chance to thank @pammckinney.bsky.social and @sheilawebber.bsky.social in person. I was one of their long-distance students at @sheffielduni.bsky.social Information School. They're the reason why I eventually ended up at the ECIL conference! #ecil25 #informationliteracy

We are deeply concerned by reports of Glasgow City Council's proposal to remove #schoollibrarians from all 30 secondary schools in the city, particularly at a time when #readingenjoyment is in such steep decline. Read our statement, released today: bit.ly/4ei3x7x #uksla #schoollibraries #eduskyuk
Apply to be Chair of @ciliplgbtq.bsky.social - it's been a brilliant opportunity for me, and maybe it could be for you too!

They missed the opportunity to reprise "Ray cats" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_cat
There's a lot of my faves in there too! Anne McCaffrey was my teenage self's absolute best author, I wore out the Library's copy of the Crystal Singer β€οΈ
Thank you so much for coming! it was great to hear your perspective and celebrate the breadth of the LIS world :)
Uh Oh. The iConference 2026 which is in the UK at Edinburgh Napier and has a theme of "Information Literacies, Authenticity and Use: The Move Towards a Digitally Enlightened Society" clashes with the dates of the LILAC information literacy conference, taking place in Sheffield :( #lilac26

These projects all sound absolutely brilliant! incredible work done by librarians with very small pots of money - congratulations to all the successful projects :)
Anyone considering studying the Librarianship or Library and Information Services Management programmes at the Sheffield Information School @sheffielduni.bsky.social with an interest in Art Librarianship might consider applying for this excellent scholarship!

Completely agree with this. Secondary schools have wonderful arts, music, DT and sports equipment that many primary schools lack - this is the oppotunity to do really exciting creative work
Westminster Library debate: Jonathan Davies MP has opened the debate with a robust defence of these vital services and asks that the government considers developing a full cross-departmental, national strategy for public libraries, backed by robust data.
I didn't! bother, sounds right up my street :)
Absolutely thrilled to be working on this research project with @sharonwagg.bsky.social and @woodsiegirl.bsky.social and 100% Digital Leeds: bit.ly/44VRWbB We're still collecting and analysing data, but we are already seeing how valuable arts and culture are as a gateway to digital inclusion
This all sounds great, I'm very much in favour. Does this plan extend to refusing planning permission for drive-through fast food outlets like proposed MacDonalds in Heeley. Constructing more of these seems very counter-productive to this plan.
mind boggling that this is not already the case :(
Did you know that the band Neon Neon wrote a concept album about John DeLorean? It's a banger, highly recommend a listen: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stainle...
Fantastic work! I can see my local warden in this picture, who is always ready with a cheery welcome, knows all the kids by name and protects them from harm, couldn't ask for better service :)
This looks like a brilliant career development opportunity :)
Oh fantastic! I will promote it to them - and the recordings look really useful too!
This looks like a brilliant event - would it be open to our Library students (University of Sheffield)?
Hi can you email me please? P.mckinney@sheffield.ac.uk I think I've got approval to record :)
Thanks @drbeth.bsky.social!
