Oh yes, completely! The Survivors is still utterly unnerving and very close to the mark - so I really must rewatch this ... followed by an episode of Dick Turpin & Grange Hill to uplift the beat of course!

This is wonderful Clodagh - a lovely piece of work!
A Co Cork sampler: 'Isabella Pue worked this sampler at Mrs Lawlers School Youghall in the Tenth Year of her Age August Fourteenth 1815'
Easy! Ridley Scott to do a masterful version of Napole... oh wait. Damn.
Kelly: "You could pick a random group of people off the street tonight here in DC and they could probably do a better job than our government is doing right now. They don't have a goal, there's no strategic plan. And what this is likely to lead to is, again, a long war with a lot of dead Americans."
Too many to choose from π although I absolutely love Mount Stewart, Co.Down (which has very good copies of the Castlereagh Papers btw!)
Bodiam Castle in spring
Welcome to #MedievalMarch exploring some of our medieval places & collections, starting with perhaps the most iconic of castles, Bodiam.
Weβre celebrating a significant anniversary - we have cared for the castle for 100 years, since it was bequeathed to @nationaltrust.org.uk in 1926.

I think this may be a worrying hobby case of reverse C18th 'scalecreep' π€ - also a great issue of @nationaltrust.org.uk magazine btw!
And my final 15mm Dutch house, again from that Genie Paul at @sabotag3d.bsky.social. I wanted this one to look whitewashed and it wouldn't look out of place somewhere in North America, as well as Holland. #wargaming
Absolutely. Wrong move, completely wrong message.

Donald Trump says Keir Starmer has damaged the special relationship by not helping him more in the US-Israel war on Iran. But you have to remember that when you do help, Trump pretends you didnβt anyway, and also pisses on your war dead.

Psychotherapist Keir Starmer asking Donald Trump, "And are these windmills in the room with you right now?"
Starmer's next meeting with Trump.

No βstupid rules of engagementβ huh. If this is true itβs a terrible war crime by the USA.

This is very interesting indeed π!

37 million years old whale spine found in the hot dunes of Egypt. This is a complete skeleton, the first-ever find for Basilosaurus, a large, predatory, prehistoric archaeocete whale uncovered in Wadi El Hitan, preserved with the remains of its prey.

Russo-Turkish War 1877 at the Irvine club today. Rebels and Patriots. The Ottomans are surging over the bridge.
Well said, Lee. Like many, miniature painting is what I do to just switch off from everything. However, I also get the irony of blocking out modern conflicts /wars by concentrating on painting little men from... ah, past or made-up conflicts/ wars ππ€

Beyond the daffodils πΌ and costumes, who was St David?
My long-form look at the history, the myth, and the mind of Walesβ patron saint. π΄
Ashton Canal, Ancoats, Manchester, 1978.
I totally concur. I think once we stop thinking of the US as it once was, that would be a start. The current approach, as with China and Russia, is a carve up of the world's resources, through bullying, illegal seizing of assets or just simple aggression. With a figleaf of an excuse behind it all.
Three daffodils in early bloom
