Taylor Hale Additionally, Jag and Jas and I have had conversations before TAR was ever in the picture about ways they’ve felt I’ve dropped the ball in supporting diversity across the BB community. And honestly - the way the fandom talks about them at large is pretty fucking gross. We have two Punjabi Sikh men wearing turbans racing throughout Europe - I’d be a fool to assume they wouldn’t face racism in ways even I wouldn’t. Giving the EP was an olive branch. At almost every pit stop interview we spoke in detail about our frustrations at the inequities for women in the race, while maintaining our loyalty to J&J to support their mission for visibility.

Hannah Chaddha going back to my question for Kyland & Taylor now that tensions have calmed down: the following is a result of the fact that i know & trust the two of you to be extremely intentional, mission-oriented, and purpose-driven people…so my question is knowing how inequitable the Race is (case proven by the fact that in 37 seasons only 3 F-F teams have won) while you’ve publicly acknowledged how hard the Race is for women in multiple episodes now, why did you choose to give the express pass (the one time you could give a tangible, concrete advantage to another team) to a M-M team? and the one time you could give a tangible, concrete disadvantage to another team, you gave it to a F-F team? and i’m being so sincere & inquisitive in asking this by the way, not only wondering for the drama of it all.

Kyland Young I appreciate your question as many have asked similar things. Here's a few points: 1) Recognizing and not liking the challenges FF teams have isn't the same as committing to singlehandedly changing that. As someone who has, like you, played a game for a greater purpose rather than prioritizing my own individual game, I didn't find here to do that. TAR producers can make things more equitable — which was main point Taylor made very clear at that vote in Greece, but for obvious reasons they cut that. 2) We burned our vote since conversations at the airport on our way to Greece had led us to believe the U-Turns would go to just E/T & J/J. 3) Remember the XP was given out at start of game before any of us had a sense of how physical things would be - more than MM teams, MF teams actually win most seasons because TAR doesn't always do such a poor job equalizing the physical aspects that make the game favor males.
