Hoshoryu was gifted a giant soy sauce after becoming Grand Champion in London.
@lizbethmyles.bsky.social I think I know this one. (Tues 16th Sept S17E43) #TheChase
Christopher H Bidmead : a warm, engaging and hugely intelligent man who enjoyed putting the cat among the pigeons on interviews. In real life though, he was approachable and kind: and made the nicest coffee I’ve ever had. Here is is at home in Dec 2013 when he kindly asked me round.
RIP Chris x
One of my favourite VAM things ever, that pub gathering.
Sad news. We were big fans of Christopher Hamilton Bidmead and his button down approach to Doctor Who. He even critiqued our Miniscope of him in 2012. A skeptic till the end.
Sunday’s episode has already been recorded, so we’ll properly pay tribute to Mr. Bidmead the week after.
Logopolis
Castrovalva
Frontios
Very sad to hear we've lost Christopher H Bidmead. Always struck me as a very genial chap who took his work seriously but not himself. Hard to over-express my admiration for Frontios, and the ideas in Logopolis and Castrovalva, where mathematics is treated as where philosophy and poetry meet.
Farewell to Doctor Who script editor Christopher H Bidmead, who died on August 8. He brought a singular creative vision to season 18 and was an entertaining commentor across many DVDs and John Nathan-Turner's biography. See you on the other side (E-Space).
It's not the worst thing in the world, unlike the "international" menu of atrocities the other month.
I’m sorry to hear that Christopher H Bidmead has died. I can’t sum up my view of his work in less than 50,000 words, but Castrovalva is one of my favourite Doctor Who stories, and I loved his novelisation of Logopolis. RIP.
The 2 feels nice, and having larger hands it fits nicely. The larger screen looks great however it’ll be docked to the TV more than it’ll be played handheld, so meh?
Looking forward to actual gameplay once things have actually downloaded…
Also, download speeds for digital purchases seems rather slow; I’d likely blame myself for that since I don’t have the dock attached to Ethernet. Thankfully after the initial setup the 2 immediately recognized the purchase of the Tears of the Kingdom upgrade, as it ought to.
Initially I tried the Switch power adapter but the Switch 2 would get power and the dock wouldn’t output video. Even with a fan in the Switch 2 dock I’m surprised by that.
Bought a Switch 2, which came yesterday, but I’m only now just setting it up.
Initial negative reactions are the back of the Switch 2 dock comes off fully (whereas the Switch panel had a hinge), and for some reason the power adapter for the Switch isn’t sufficient for the Switch 2.
New Verity is out tomorrow (Patrons already have it), but until then why not listen to isolated Dugga Doo. Credit to the uploader. youtu.be/OKij-S7h44Q

Here’s me guessing what clips from the new #DoctorWho trailer are from what episodes! Save this to see how wrong I am! youtu.be/1VYxQ59gRSg
Americans may not get Myers’ “elbows up” gesture but Canadians and Gordie Howe fans sure do.
Maybe the good billionaires can save us from all of this
Maybe a good gas leak will prevent me from getting further brain damage
Maybe a good hyena will come along and attack the one ripping my throat out
Maybe a good car wreck will free me from the vehicle I'm trapped in
Maybe a good nuclear ex
Many thanks! I was literally thinking of you a few minutes ago, texting with a friend about Only Connect, which you introduced me to back in 2008 or whatever it was. And then boom, I see your bsky post.
I’ve had foot problems for a bit over a year, and sporadically before that. Plantar fasciitis of course. Some days it’s unbearable. Cross-Atlantic hugs.
It was a highlight of the YEAR. 🥰
Thanks much! It was great to see you as always. Hopefully we’ll see you in Blighty sooner than later.
Chip, we love you, and those amazing words hit my heart. Thank you very much. ❤️
A salute to Radio Free Skaro, which celebrated their thousandth episode at the world's greatest #DoctorWho convention, #gally1
This happened. Wow.
And check back very soon for context around our important announcement of today: Gallifrey One comes to an end in 2028 as we close out our nearly 40 year odyssey… but the moment has been prepared for! #gally1
There will be more details announced in time I gather, but to quote Logopolis, the moment has been prepared for.
