I liked the Kentmere a lot! No clue what developer my camera shop uses. But, if you use a screw-in red filter you can get way stronger contrast in-camera without going for more expensive stocks. A 52mm is like $16.
What stock you using? I've been on Arista Edu 400 pushed to 800 because it's only $6.50 for 36 exposures and has a ton of leeway. For example, Ronnie via a Nikon 28mm 2.8
