There's a big problem in lefty circles, at least #onhere, with thinking that we (hyper-verbal, news junkies, relatively well-educated) are normative. We are not. Vaccines are only indisputably settled science for people who have enough contact with reliable sources of info, which ain't everybody.

I am not following super closely but the last poll I saw showed Platner beating her. My concern remains the fact that most people don't pay that much attention to politics and don't know he's (plausibly) a Nazi yet. They absolutely will know come election time.

I agree, and it also worries me because a) Nazi and b) the polls likely do not reflect how hard Collins will hit the Nazi angle if he moves forward. People might vote for him now because he "looks like a winner" and to me he looks like someone who'll get skunked the minute he's the nominee.

that is incredibly hard and sad, and it sounds like they live too far away for you to just kind of bully them until he has enough words to argue for himself. i hope they can overcome their self-protectiveness.
