Dark romance used to be way more dark settings/ themes rather than the romance itself being dark. So I say keep calling it what you feel fits best, and perhaps be the change you want to see in the genre! I write cozy dark romance w demons and crime but very wholesome relationships, so I support it.

Someone came to Plot Twist Cafe for our book club last night HOLDING MY BOOK?? It was dog-eared and beaten half to death. The cover was barely hanging on. She asked me to sign it and said it is one of her two regular rereads. When she put it down on the counter, I jumped back like a startled cat.
