Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending the SBS seminar from @robwilsonmncn.bsky.social , looking at over 20 years of butterfly data. In Spanish mountain ranges, cold specialised species are going locally extinct and are being replaced by warmer habitat species

Entomological collections are sustained by all those involved in their study and management. From #INCSTEP @tettris.eu we want to give them voice πŸ—£οΈ, so we will publish a series of short interviews to introduce some of these people linked to the project.

Today, let's meet Antonio Ricarte! πŸͺ°πŸŒΌ

Phenological variation in biotic interactions shapes population dynamics and distribution in a range-shifting insect herbivore | Proceedings of the Royal Society B: Biological Sciences Phenological responses to climate change vary across trophic levels. However, how trophic phenological synchrony determines species’ distributions through its effects on population dynamics has rarely been addressed. Here, we show that phenological ...

Our OA paper in led by former PhD student James Stewart, with @robwilsonmncn.bsky.social et al shows how varying phenology can influence range shifts via effects on population dynamics and mediated by biotic interactions, #BrownArgus (not Sparrow:-)
