He is not enjoying the change in cars. 😂
Whyyyy?????
Was definitely the Crown Sterling. I’d had Crown Imperial in my head…close but not it for all those years. 🙃
I love the MSP feed. 😊
Seriously, I’ve searched for that damn hotel on and off for years. One ask here, I get an answer that within a couple of clicks gives me a news article and BAM, someone describing exactly what I remembered, down to the building it was in. Fastest rabbit hole ever.
Thank you!! I’m lost in pics now.
The Centre Village building.
The Minneapolis one was in the Centre Village building…which had a parking ramp on the lower floors.
I KNEW I WASN’T CRAZY!!! 😝
That article led me down the right rabbit hole. Crown Sterling Suites. Was Embassy in the early-mid 80s and then was sold.
Nope, but that sparked something as I read the articles. FOUND IT. 😀
Crown Sterling Suites in Minneapolis.
Pretty sure it’s long gone…
Ok long term MSP. Back in the early 90s I came to the cites with my folks for a conference my dad was attending and stayed at a hotel downtown. The lobby was on a higher floor. It was laid out like an embassy suites with the rooms ringing a big atrium with a stream, walkway and gardens…any idea?
At least Trump can’t pardon his Nazi ass.
Inject this shit right into my veins
Ok, get Ken’s vocal over the top guys.
Man I still can’t hear that Springsteen song and stay composed. Gotta mute the radio every time.
Bastards. Fuck every DHS employee straight to hell.
Okay, somebody found the one (1) ethical use case for AI.
I’m not engaging in talk of violence on a public forum.
Bounty hunters have no legal authority in Minnesota beyond a private citizen. This smells bad. They also can only arrest people who have violated bail, not act as ad-hoc enforcement for an agency.
Not sure what this new twist is but it isn’t good.
Fuck every Republican and Democrat that voted to allow this action. Fuck every single one of them.
When the retaliation happens I won’t even be shocked. My god.
How can we take military action against one of the most despicable regimes on earth and STILL wind up as the bad guy?
Yet here we are.
OMFG. 🤬
Oooohhhh mama. I have a sales type who got into an email thread while I was busy and proceeded to talk K8s security posture to a customer.
I need to try to unhump that hound.
Oh my god I knew I liked you for a reason.
I JUST FINISHED LISTENING TO THAT TRACK before I logged in here. 😁
Paramore’s straight up cover of Burning Down the House on that same album is also insanely good.
Honestly almost any service has better quality than Spotify. Plus the two best sounding, Qobuz and Tidal, pay the most to artists last I checked.
You could do hi-res on some of the Beats models (Studio Pro I think) but you need to be wired for it.
Balanced you’d need headphones that support individual wired connections for each ear.
But Qobuz you can try for free! You’ll know right away if you can benefit from the better quality.
Plus, artists make 5x - 6x more per stream on Qobuz and I can BUY tracks, DRM-free.
If you’re a music junkie and use headphones, first recommendation I would make is a hi-res DAP (and get the hell off Spotify).
But for the bonus round, go balanced for your headphones and DAP output.
My Qobuz setup is just a delight for listening.
Not far off how a lot of the pro stuff works these days. 😉
Heck, even for that show in the photo (was Chicago…the band not the city) I had a digital EQ that compensated as temperature and humidity changed.
Me circa 2000 mixing FOH.
We had spreadsheets with macros to calculate vertical angles…you’d shoot a laser measure into the venue and enter dimensions and it would spit out how many cabinets at what arc…
Then you’d fire up the rig and go “wow, I can make it sound like the record!”
Receipts, me back then: 😂
What’s funny is that the technology had existed for decades, but it never really sounded great until the processing caught up to align the drivers and really scale up the systems.
Previous speakers had dispersions like 55°H x 40°V. Enter vertical line arrays, 90°H and precise vertical control.
