Virginia Dems pass dozens of bills as part of Spanberger’s affordability agenda
Virginia Democrats say they are making good on their promises to pass bills to lower the cost of living in Virginia.
Last year, Virginia Dems and Dem candidates vowed to make progress on affordability if they won a majority in the state House. After winning a trifecta in the state, they’re making it happen.
When Dems are in power in the states, they deliver on their promises.

“Must support the Green New Deal (or whatever policy)” is a litmus test but so is “must reject the Green New Deal (or whatever policy)” and I just wish the people calling for no litmus tests would be less hypocritical about it.

Have Republicans had anything that could even come close to being considered a ‘good’ election night since November 5, 2024?
I can’t think of one.
Let’s keep that streak going.

In the last few hours we have CA GOP Rep. Darrell Issa telling people he won’t run for reelection and CA GOP Rep. Kevin Kiley saying that he is running for reelection as an Independent.
The Republican exodus continues.

Of all the horrible, corrupt and incompetent things Kristi Noem has done that would get any other Cabinet secretary fired, the thing that now seems likely to result in her termination is the unpardonable MAGA sin of blaming Trump for her corruption when she got caught.

Free and fair elections are the cornerstone of our democracy. But right now, they’re under attack.
Several Republican-controlled states have redrawn their congressional maps to give themselves an unfair advantage in the midterm elections.

Looking at the TX turnout numbers - seems like investing over the long term to build a deep, diverse bench of authentic values-driven leaders who can effectively communicate pays off big time. Really proud of every @runforsomething.net candidate and alum on the ballot yesterday.

Opinion | I watched the Tea Party take over the GOP. I see a similar movement brewing on the left.
Voters want to see someone — anyone — take on the Establishment.
OPINION by "The Weeknight" co-host @michaelsteele.bsky.social
"Politics is about power. And in this environment, winning is not just a matter of saying the right things but showing that you’re willing to stand up."

Republicans Say the NRSC Isn’t Taking the Midterms Seriously
Republicans in Washington are getting increasingly frustrated with their signature Senate campaign arm, with anger centered on its two leaders.
As the Senate map slowly becomes more favorable to Democrats, there are internal GOP rumblings that the NRSC - the Senate GOP campaign committee dedicated to winning elections - is not taking the midterms seriously.
We have a chance to catch them sleeping.

There's been a lot of debate within the Democratic establishment about what rhetoric to use via ICE.
Well, an incumbent doesn't lose by 48 percentage points very often—and her vote on collaborating with ICE was the defining issue here.

JUST IN: Democrat Alex Holladay has flipped a GOP-held seat in *Arkansas*.
Republican Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders tried hard to delay this race and wanted the seat to stay vacant for 8+ months, but the courts told her to hold it today. If she was worried, she was right to be.

By the way, Democrats have now flipped 27 legislative seats in Trump 2.0.
Republicans are still stuck at zero.
Even in 2017-18, the GOP managed to flip a few. This time, just a goose egg, despite several good chances.
