We Tried It: Johnsonville’s New ‘Fizzy Glizzy’ Dr Pepper Sausage
An group of office taste testers kicks the tires on Johnsonville’s new Dr Pepper Inspired Sausage.
I tried the #FizzyGlizzy – the new Johnsonville stunt sausage "inspired by" @drpepperofficial.bsky.social – but if you think a soda sausage is a fun idea, you should go ahead and try it too. Don't forget the Pop Rocks. www.milwaukeemag.com/we-tried-it-...

Wisconsin May be Getting an Official State Microbe
Cheese is great, yes, but it’s also well-tilled symbolic soil. So, a counterproposal: how about brewer’s yeast?
There's a modest proposal in Madison to make the yeast that makes cheese the state microbe. A modest counterproposal: How 'bout brewers yeast instead? My latest for @milwaukeemag.bsky.social: www.milwaukeemag.com/wisconsin-of...

Inventors Brewpub Gives Beer Fans a Reason to Be Excited About January
One weekend with two big craft beer events is a great excuse to check out Port Washington’s gem of a brewpub.
January is suuuper light for beer events. Trevor Easton up at Inventors Brewpub in Port Washington saw an opportunity and went for it, building a two-day event for homebrewers and big-beer fans. www.milwaukeemag.com/inventors-br...

I'd always wondered about that lot; seems like a great development opportunity depending on the owner. It is owned by Lakefront (or at least Russ Klisch), so that's good for him.

Lakefront Brewery Adding Riverside Amenities
Will make riverside more pedestrian friendly, more fun for customers.
Interesting story here on that vacant lot next to
@lakefrontbrewery.bsky.social (separated by the Holton St. Bridge). Short version: The fence is coming down (by city order) and there are some nice amenities coming to it this year.

At 11 am Saturday, 3 Sheeps Brewing in Sheboygan will begin pouring free pints of Dill-ightful Derek, a pickle pilsner inspired by “Stranger Things” character “Delightful” Derek Turnbow. It's making good on a promise that if the young actor Jake Connelly commented on a post, the taps would open.

Yeah, that surprised me, too. It’s a kind of viscous silkiness that is often the missing piece that’s kind of hard to put your finger on trying to figure out why NAs are just a little off. You’re very welcome, thanks for reading!

I agree, though once I had a real one and an NA one side-by-side I moderated that position. (It's still good tho.) My core take of NA beers is that alcohol matters so much for flavor and body. You have to replace that with something, which I think is why the Solid State sour shows so well. Body.

Eagle Park Has Entered the N/A Game, and We Tried Their First Four Beers
The Muskego brewery takes a different approach to the white-hot nonalcoholic beer trend.
If you were going to make an N/A beer, how would you do it? The guys at Eagle Park have been thinking about that question for a while, and spent more than a year developing this new line of beers using ingredients and technique, not tech. My latest: www.milwaukeemag.com/eagle-park-h...
