My day job is all about U.S. economic security and technology. Today, I salute Granville T. Woods (electric rail and telegraphy), Katherine Johnson (computational science and space), and Valerie Thomas (3D imaging and applications) for their impact on American industrial and technological progress.
Since my youth, the study of Black history—the contributions of freedom fighters, technologists, educators, entrepreneurs, scholars, and art pioneers—has been a source of unending inspiration for me as an American and as a human being.
