It’s a truly special place. If I could afford to change careers and knew literally anything about running camps, I’d consider it myself! The position can include housing at St. Dot’s (a big deal because housing is very expensive here). It’s next to thousands of acres of open space and trails.

Every single paper is like this. We couldn't reproduce the age-depth model in their second PNAS paper. They regularly report spikes from one layer without analyzing layers above and below. Their results can't be reproduced in the rare cases they do share samples. They get really basic things wrong.

Heh, you could say that! I know very little about my paternal grandfather’s service in WWII, I’m not sure what kind of ship he was on.
Anyway, my Italian pop-pop immigrated here twice; he didn’t like it the first time. 😆 He was born in 1892 and lived to be 95. He doted on me and my brother as much as an old man could, and yelled at us in Italian when we didn’t behave. I miss him terribly.
(I thankfully never met my paternal grandpa, but my actual dad was The Best, and is the clearest proof I’ve ever seen re: how people can overcome a challenging childhood to become excellent parents)
