We found a mixed terrestrial and marine fauna with complex ecological implications and a Rhaetian age for these Holwell fissures.

This lovely #Coccosteus was a placoderm, or armoured fish, which lived in the seas of the Devonian (~400 million years ago). This one was found in the Caithness Flagstones at Achanarras - Scotland. #fossilfriday 106 hours of prep time.
