The real tragedy is that they were inspired by bland shooters like CoD instead of getting soaked in Hideo Kojima weirdness (elegant tactical choreography mixed with random madness and jarring reference jokes).
Jag har ett par Granbergs också faktiskt, men har tappat bort ena. De höll bättre än Julas, det är sant. Men nu behövde jag lägga på en mindre summa för att få det fraktfritt så det talade för ett handskköp.
Som jämförelse: jag och min fru har slitit upp tre par sådana här handskar bara den här vintern. Det går hål rakt igenom tyget på fingrarna inom ett par månader. Skyddsbeläggningen på handflatan är uppsliten inom ett par veckor. www.jula.se/catalog/klad...
Beställde handskar också, rimligt pris och känns bra. Får se hur de håller över tid, jag sliter ut många sorters arbetshandskar på några månader. Pluspoäng för att de skickade med gratis katalog, anteckningsblock och t.o.m. ett enklare laptopskydd som lite bonus.
Uppdatering: jag fick min leverans, snabbt och smidigt. Byxorna verkar lovande, bra passform och det är tydligt att de har ett rejält ytskikt som ser ut att vara ordentligt vattentåligt. Helt klart mer renodlat regnplagg än jag trodde, ska bli intressant att testa hur pass ventilerade de är.
Det är bara att bygga ut garaget/motsv. En sådan bil kan man inte säga nej till. Vad skulle de ha för den?

Excellent thrift store find today, an old favorite I haven't seen in a very long time: Le Pacte des loups! I loved this movie 20-odd years ago, the visual style and clothes were so cool.

Yes, I have been thinking along those lines but I need to see how far I can go without affecting performance too much. These machines are pretty good for their size, but they do have their limits.
Booting it up takes about 27 seconds, but I can probably cut that down since the BIOS needlessly checks the SD card reader first. Shutdown takes less than 4 seconds.
I had to jury rig it a bit since the HAT adapter means that the cooling fan doesn't really fit as intended, but I squeezed it in place using the SSD holding screw where there's a hole leading to the CPU heat sink and that seems to work pretty well. Very easy access to the SSD too.
I stress tested it by running Google Earth in a browser window, starting up various applications, etc. The little fan spun up and easily kept the CPU at a maximum of 70 deg. Celsius, well below the throttling threshold.
They're going to be used as general purpose workstations (by my students), so it completely depends on the task. Last time I ran the OSINT exercise they were doing everything from tracking shadow tankers in the Baltic to studying satellite imagery from Kashmir to reading up on the Polish election.

No software licensing hassle, everything's open source and free. I'm going to set it up so that I have a standard setup saved as an .iso, then I can wipe and restore each SSD with ease.

These tiny machines are quite capable, I've done a little bit of stress testing and it holds up well.

I took the kids for a drive and went down to Malmö to have a look at the Charles de Gaulle. Lots of curious spectators coming and going there, the MPs were pretty busy (but everything was calm and orderly).
