Indeed I am! That’s my profiling library/visualizer: codeberg.org/Ambilab/devui
A screenshot of a game. Well, game. There's nothing really, a floating rectangle.
I need to start somewhere, right? #screenshotsaturday #gamedev
• All our new components are designed for light, dark, and high contrast light and dark themes
• They support RTL languages (Arabic, Hebrew, etc.)
• Full compatibility with screen readers (ARIA attributes)
• WCAG Level A & AA compliance
See the design ticket at github.com/podman-deskt...
A sheet of four nearly identical images displays a screenshot of the new Podman Desktop Tooltip component. The images show four themes: light, dark, and high-contrast light and dark. The Tooltip is simple, containing only text, but one variant is more advanced, featuring a stack of passed/error icons next to lines of text.
A screenshot of the Tooltip component in its RTL variant shows how it will appear in Hebrew, Arabic, Urdu, and Persian. The layout of advanced tooltips, which display icons and labels, is flipped to work well with RTL languages.

Fridays are @podman-desktop.io design system updates! Check out the new Tooltip component (aka humble beginnings).

Yours truly will discuss the new design system I’ve been working on, how I created a celebration microsite (and how I failed twice), and what’s coming for Podman Desktop settings. Please join us next Thursday.
Thanks!
As the Bio Festival starts this Friday, after many years, I'd like to show you the poster we (Vladimir Chalupa and I) created in 2016: vancura.design/illustration... #illustration
That will surely work :))
Thanks. That’s a very good point.
There’s also ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X (what a name), but from what I see, it’s not sold yet in .cz. It looks awesome.
I guess I have an idea for my birthday self-gift :)
Steam Deck looks like exactly what I need (I know Play Date, and I can’t see its display well, so that’s a no-go, unfortunately).
I guess my body needs to make a game again. Tell me, is the Steam Deck good? Frankly, I am more a gamedev than a player. I enjoy creating worlds rather than playing games, but I would love to have a device that I can go to the pub with and brainstorm on.
Your feedback shapes these features! This is part of my commitment to inclusive and accessible development tools. I want every developer to have a Terminal experience that works for them, so please share your opinions.
Hi! I am working on typography enhancements for @podman-desktop.io's Terminal:
• Custom font selection & upload
• Accessibility presets for dyslexia/low vision
• Contextual typography controls
• Dynamic adjustment during workflows

After 20 years, the PNG spec has been updated, and it looks like other enhancements are coming. www.programmax.net/articles/png...

I think I already said that elsewhere, but I love your UI.

See, they apply a 9-slice technique to the shadow, similar to what you see on macOS (bsky.app/profile/vanc...). However, instead of tiling the middle column and row, they stretch them. Additionally, they likely add a touch of blue noise on top to reduce banding.
A high-contrast image of the Windows window shadow reveals that it's a bit rotated.
Let’s continue with Windows, particularly WinUI/Fluent. Shadows are interesting: they appear to rotate in 3D around the X-axis. The top part of the shadow is closer to the window edge than the bottom part.

Here's a PSD if anyone needs it. The themes include light, dark, and high-contrast light and dark, as well as border effects.

A macOS shadow tile.
Photoshop Quick Mask helps reveal where the macOS shadow tiling begins and the size of its tiles; it's a 9-scale bitmap with 16 pt tiles and 150 pt corners. This investigation is a great adventure! :)

So, it's here again. Time to reconstruct how they do it and make the atoms for our new design system.
A zoomed screenshot of macOS Tahoe traffic lights in high contrast light theme. The thicker inner strokes are much darker than the outer stroke, which makes the control look blurry. The Close button uses an almost invisible red, while the other two buttons are black.
A zoomed screenshot of macOS Tahoe traffic lights in high contrast dark theme. This is even worse; two strokes actually reduce readability, creating a sort of poor-man's blur.
High contrast themes in macOS Tahoe are quite unfinished, and I hope they will be improved. For example, traffic lights have two inner strokes: one normal 0.5pt stroke (used in all themes) and another HC-only 1pt stroke. See the image ALT descriptions for more details.
