Orthogonal to that, they should look at enforcing the rules during set-piece defence. Things that would be clear penalties in open play are completely ignored

> What have you all been doing

Well, they have been getting paid handsomely, for one.
And presumably their businesses have been profitable.
What has not been to like?

That’s certainly one gap, that I hadn’t considered. I was only at β€œwe need capable, home made air defences and we can test them in Ukraine”. Wondering if s comprehensive gap analysis exists - then we turn that into a check list and get cracking

Can defend itself right now? Layman’s impression is no.
But when, realistically? And how much will it cost?
It is the only way forward of course #eurogaullism

Can Minnesota and/ or Minnesota institutions flee in a meaningful way? Are things like pension funds a state thing for example?

Mehdi, mate, be serious. There will always be an ICE or ICE equivalent. What you are saying is as bad as the old β€œdefund the policeβ€œ slogan - hopeless.
Instead, talk about how you want immigration to be managed. Even you must acknowledge that sometimes, someone will be deported πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Solidarity, Jen. Do Americans have enough of it?
I remember solidarity being a slogan in 80s Denmark, seems it worked

> their public may be less willing to endure it than yours - because you have the more compelling story to tell

You can discount that. You will never get that story through to US voters. These are the same people that swallow the whole Epstein thing and all the other canards thrown at them

Idiotic indeed. They must put all their hopes into that takeover of the broad church by the left.
Nothing wrong with ideals, but under FPTP those are wasted.
Under PR they would be expressed, suitably weighted, and most importantly not completely wasted.

And I can never understand, given that analysis, why the UK left and centre are not all in for PR: bespoke little parties driving each their own mobilisation, and then cool heads in parliament making that into a tapestry of collaboration. You’d be social democrats in one fell swoop.

A good post to be sure. But also a sad testament to FPTP.
The whole notion of a broad church, with its inherent tension, and the adverse effect on mobilising support, it makes you want to cry.
If ever it β€œworked” it must have been due to class consciousness like you say - automatic mobilisation.

There was an ICE with a different name before this 2003 ICE. And if you get rid of the current ICE, there will be another agency with the exact same responsibilities and a different name. A silly slogan for a silly exercise. You guys need a slogan that captures what you actually want

04.07.2025 20:42 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

It is not a good slogan. It is like the old β€œdefund the popo”, quite useless.
Ice is bad in its current form, sure; but a form of immigration police will always exist πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

@cpscott15.bsky.social in your latest video, you talk about a lack of adequate support to Ukraine. What form do you mean? Basics like bullets and shells - Europe ought to be able to supply that. Or specialist high tech that only the US can supply? Either way it is a shame
