The best thing about this sequence was NSJ looking comfortable that close to the basket.
He needs to develop some sort of scoring touch in the paint to take another step forward.
The Charlotte #Hornets have a $6.5 million disabled player exception, tradable salaries, and a President of Basketball Operations who is truly in on every deal.
If a Jimmy Butler trade happens, Charlotte is positioned perfectly to facilitate the deal and benefit from it.

The Philadelphia Eagles have a fearsome defense.
If the #Panthers want to replicate part of their model, they have a chance to do so with the eighth overall pick.

What makes the #Hornets back court duo of LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller so potent?
I took a look.

I have never in my life seen an announcers jinx like the one that was just cast on Brandon Aubrey
Absolutely on my list. I think heβd be a great culture/scheme fit
If anyone who follows me on here cares about the Charlotte 49ers - my quick thoughts on some options to replace Biff Poggi as Charlotteβs head football coach:

DeβAaron Fox is super cool.
Patrick did a wonderful job writing about his game.
Moussa DiabatΓ©'s rebounding exploits have Charles Lee and Miles Bridges singing his praises

The players on the Charlotte Hornets have combined to play 3145 minutes of basketball.
Only 137 of those have been played by somebody 7β0β or taller.
They are fifth in the league in rebounding.
Charles Lee has these guys playing some really inspired ball.
A quick write up on why itβs not time to panic even though #Hornets sophomore Brandon Miller has started 2024 slowly:

Herbert has been a legit dual threat QB in the last two weeks. If heβs making plays with his legs heβs unguardable.
Mahomes
Allen
Jackson
Burrow
Herbert
In some order and I donβt think thereβs any debating that
Herbert is bananas - my goodness
Justin Herbert is on one right now.
Nothing Cincinnati can do
Cleveland has the ability to bury opposing teams quickly. This one might get ugly for the Hornets.
Brandon Millerβs inefficiency is definitely concerning. Heβs getting to his spots, Charles Lee is scheming up looks for him, but theyβre not fallingβ¦itβs odd.
In a different timeline weβd talk about Donovan Mitchell like we talk about Ant Edwards
Stephon Castle has it. Great guards control games with changes of speed/direction. Steph does it to stretch the defense horizontally and vertically, Castle does it like Ja to get downhill.
Fun player would have been a perfect fit in between Ball and Miller on the Hornets
Mahomes is very much in that category for me. Great comp
Wemby is firmly in Steph Curry territory for me.
What that means is that I just giggle incessantly when I watch him play basketball because what he can do is so stupid.
What a player
I watch a lot of basketball.
I think a lot of things about basketball.
Iβm going to post them here instead of on X for now to see how that goes.
Bama vs Purdue, Lakers vs Spurs on the docket tonight
There are three factors in my mind.
1. Bryceβs play (which has been much better)
2. The quarterback talent in the draft (which isnβt great)
3. Canales faith in Young (which we canβt gauge at all)
Will make for some interesting discussions between now and the draft.
Should the Panthers select Bryce Youngβs replacement in the 2025 NFL Draft? I say no.

Patience is key with the rookie. He is a developmental piece that is doing some things well right now, but with a ton of room to grow.
From the end of this piece: βEnjoy the ride. Pick out small improvements from SalaΓΌn nightly, and invest in the development of his game.β
Comparing Tidjane SalaΓΌnβs start to other #Hornets draft targets Stephon Castle, Dalton Knecht, and Donovan Clingan

Dave Canales was brought to Carolina to revive Bryce Young.
After two weeks, that project looked like a complete failure.
After 10? Canales looks like the QB guru the #Panthers hired him to be.
