My partner and I are in this situation with phones. Her Pixel 3 is to the point that apps are failing, It's also the biggest phone that fits in her pocket, but all newer phones are bigger (and don't have a back fingerprint sensor)
My Pixel 5a still works great for me, but no more security updates...
