Book bans impact public libraries & bookstores, but it’s school libraries where they are rampant ❤️🩹
Many kids are unable to make it to the public library. They can’t drive, often times the library isn’t in walking distance. It’s not that their grown-ups don’t want them to be library kids.

book bans primarily target books for children, who often don't have the resources to independently acquire books outside of a school or public library setting. increased interest doesn't really matter in the face of decreased access.
professor: sometimes students have a hard time reading books they loved as kids critically
