SNAP! (Almost!) I’ll be getting flax seeds from Texture (Kortrijk) to grow from seed to … ? This year along with some natural dyes - I was thinking woad, yarrow, beetroot, … possibly more. Exciting!
This is my sculptural poem ‘decayed’ which was exhibited at the Words from the Wild show at Royal Holloway last year. The bark was recovered from a local restoration area in Bushy Park and belonged to one of the several conker trees that were recently cut down.
Not really pictures of the tapestry itself as you can’t photograph it but genuine pictures of pictures in the museum! 😃

Old Skin For old skin say skin suit, say skin tight, say oil skin, skinny dip. Say peeled skin, thin-skinned. Say skin flint, skin that can't be turned to show a better side. Say folds that never return to home, say backs-of-your-hands like exposed sandstone. Say skin deep, say skin of your teeth. Say scared, say scared right out of your skin.

Great audience for last night's @hempressbooks.bsky.social takeover event w/thanks to @brihughespoet.bsky.social and to Hem editor Richard Capener. I performed a sound piece through a gag (bandage) and continued my exploration of waste. Great chats with people afterwards!
