If you wish to send a message to the friends and family of Vicky Teinaki, @vickytnz.bsky.social,
about how much she meant to us and the community she was so much a part of, please add them here.
I now have access to a compilation by a close friend of hers (not on BlueSky) and will add ours.
Zuckerberg prostrating himself before the fascist White House by throwing women, minorities and the LGBTQ+ community to the bigots without even being asked.
What a pathetic, morally bereft human he is.
The sun pours through trees and lights up parts of the leafy ground ahead. In the foreground a spindly tree reaches across, from right to left.
Best thing today was seeing this on my run.
Anakin Padme 4 Panel Meme. Anakin begins by saying βWeβre going to measure the success of our serviceβ Padme happily responds βYouβll measure effectiveness, right? Not satisfaction?β Anakin stares back blankly. Padme replies looking concerned βOh god, you're going to use those smiley faces arenβt youβ¦β
A personal win for the week (and longer term really) is finding a course so I can begin qualifying as a personal trainer. It'll take a couple of years and won't be a full time job, but I'm really excited to start learning again & work towards something outside of work that I feel passionate about.
π₯³ Some work wins for the week:
- started building productive stakeholder relationships & position research as an asset
- found out some work I did in 2021 wasn't complete rubbish & was able to reuse a lot of it for some research standards work
- onboarded two new researchers to the team
Sorry for using the word 'workiversary', I'm still a bit disgusted myself tbh
Just realised I'm coming up to my 1 year workiversary at NHS. That's gone quick!
Meme shows a man sat alone on a swing, at a dinner table and then stood alone.
What am I meant to do without the Olympics?
I have no idea if this is real or not but I need this job.
Hassan!! π₯³π₯³π₯³
Incredible for Sifan Hassan to be in this leading pack in the Olympic marathon after having done two other events (and medaled at both). ππΌ
Screenshot of Guardian headline that says βParis Olympics day 15: Ethiopiaβs Tola wins menβs marathon, basketball, athletics and moreβ
Bloody hell, this Tola lad is doing well.
Might actually have a little cry when the Olympics finishes. π’
I watched the B-girls this afternoon and loved it!
Infuriating isn't it!
About to do the same. π’
This week I've had my first proper official COVID & it's been pretty lame to be honest.
I've also been quite shocked by the amount of people that have been surprised that a) I did a test at all & b) that I'm self-isolating (I know some people don't have the luxury of isolating, so that aside). βΉοΈ
2 things Iβm really appreciating about the Olympics coverage aside from the sport:
1 - a diverse group of GB athletes talking about their experiences with mental health, normalising doing so
2 - multiple GB athletes talking about focusing on βprocess not outcomeβ which particularly chimes with me
What an absolutely crap performance. Honestly a bit in disbelief that England have been so bad.
This England team continue to be so poor, but my god this ref is dreadful.
Yes you're right that some people need cameras on, that's a good point. I think if inclusivity was the focus - in a way that didn't put pressure on those that needed those things - rather than feeling performative and linked to a lack of trust, it would be better received and done more often.
England get in the bin
Embarrassing performance from England this evening. ππΌβ½
People who push for 'camera-on' Teams meetings, please don't. I am so sick of looking at my own face every day. I can still engage with you even if you're not able to see me.
A black and white greyhound lays on a red bed, underneath her head are a bunch of fluffy toys including an orange fox. She's looking directly at the camera.
Just a photo of little Dilly. We've had her about two months now and she's definitely settling more and sleeping through the night. We're just starting to see her playful personality I think. π₯°
