Kemi Badenoch accused of insulting armed forces for saying RAF 'hanging around' in the Middle East The Tory leader said British forces needed to stop Iranian missiles being launched rather than just intercepting them.

If you ever had any doubt about the political ineptitude of Kemi Badenoch then her interventions on Iran should surely settle your mind

Fun fact, I met David Copperfield in the lift of the 'Royal Horsguards Hotel' on the day of Princess Diana's funeral.

Our Armed Forces keep us safe at home and abroad.

Yet Kemi Badenoch says our brave RAF pilots are just "hanging around".

She must apologise.

Rugby is such a ridiculous game to be made to play, if you're rubbish at it. I was rubbish at cricket too, but I really liked playing it. At our school if you were in the rugby team you were treated like a demi-God, if you weren't you weren't treated very well at all

Can she just fuck off please ? Is there a politician anywhere outside the US who is so completely fact free ? I hate the Tories but even they deserve someone better than this halfwit.

This is a must read. Callaghan was my favourite Labour PM,his autobiography is an excellent book and it's a mark of the man that he saw 'cat's eyes' on UK roads as his greatest achievement.

Anyone with any moral compass at all, should attempt to boycott the USA until this monstrous maniac is gone. If you've got a holiday booked, cancel it. Don't order anything manufactured in the US, try not to use their companies (I know we're on a US site), but we should all do anything we can.

Why New Labour was the last good government Tarnished by Iraq and Mandelson - but two new books show they made millions of lives better

Another great review of my New Labour book! Alongside Macintyre's book on Brown, by @rostaylor.bsky.social in @thenewworldmag.bsky.social. 'The Blair and Brown governments made people’s lives better. The same can hardly be said for any of their successors'.

Keir Starmer is right to resist pressure from Donald Trump to ioin strikes on Iran.

This is a war of choice that is not only causing needless killing and suffering abroad, but could lead to a huge economic shock at home, massively worsening the cost-of-living crisis for Londoners.

Households in our city - and across the country - cannot afford the soaring
energy bills, food prices and increase in their mortgages this reckless
war could result in. The good progress this Government has made to bring
inflation under control could be undone.

While the brutal Iranian regime should rightly be condemned and
international pressure applied, the US and Israeli action is not the right
course to follow. The US have launched this military action, even though
it will do so much damage to our economy and those of our closest allies.

It's right that the PM is motivated by acting in the national
interest. Our country is best served by peace and stability in the Middle East
not chaos and carnage fuelled by illegal wars. It's why both Keir Starmer
and I opposed the lraq War more than 20 years ago

This war against Iran is being waged unilaterally without any international
consensus or UN approval, or any serious thought or strategy as to what
comes next. We know from experience it is much easier to start a war than
end one. Shock and awe is far easier than the hard task of healing broken
nations. This is partly why Britain should have no involvement in this conflict
beyond defensive actions to protect our citizens and allies from imminent
threats.

My thoughts are with Londoners and UK citizens in the region and all the
innocent civilians caught up in this senseless bloodshed - including the 165
schoolgirls and staff killed in an airstrike in Minab - as well as all the
Londoners who will be terrified about the safety of loved ones

I pray for a swift end to the fighting and urge our communities to do as they
always do, and not allow events overseas to divide us here in London.

She's desperate to get involved in killing Muslims. Luckily, this idiot will never be PM, members of political parties should never have been allowed to choose their leaders. Look at the track record. So, so, depressing.

I dunno, if I were Jeffrey Goldberg, author of "How Did I Get Iraq Wrong?' (2008), I might pause for a moment before cheerleading another war in the same region.

NYC mayor not banned from UK – Full Fact A series of videos shared on social media falsely claim that Zohran Mamdani said the UK has β€œlost its moral compass”, prompting Keir Starmer to ban him from the UK.

Videos shared online falsely claim Keir Starmer banned New York mayor Zohran Mamdani from the UK, after Mr Mamdani supposedly said the UK had β€œlost its moral compass” at an event they both attended.

But no such event happened, and he hasn’t been banned.

Think there's a large element of disbelief around at what on earth the US is doing and hope that somehow Trump will just stop, because otherwise the economic outlook is pretty dire.
