Yankees might be able to get Arenado for fairly cheap, especially if the Red Sox get Bregman, cards would lose all leverage if that happened
Jasson DomΓnguez now wears #24 for the Yankees. Would not be shocked if Tim Hill takes #25 now since that was his number with the Padres
Just the buzz Iβve been hearing my guess is that the Yankees round out their offseason by trading Stroman to whoever eats the most $, sign KikΓ© HernΓ‘ndez to platoon with Waldo. Sign one of Chafin or Hill and offer a Milb deal to a catcher like Yan Gomes or Grandal (not sure theyβd accept that tho)
Heyman on his B/R segment said likeliest scenario for the Yankees rn is that they add a smaller infield piece like Brendan Rodgers or Paul DeJong. He followed it up by saying if they can trade Stroman then someone like Arraez becomes more likely. Also continued to push their interest in Chafin
Redβs infield is overcrowded after Lux trade. AAV is fairly close but Candelario has a lower hit but another guaranteed year. Yankees were interested in him at the 2023 deadline before he was dealt to the Cubs.
Hereβs how I rank the likelihood of the rumored Yankees infielder acquisitions
1. Luis Arraez
2. Jorge Polanco
3. Yoan Moncada
4. Brendan Rodgers
A name I have not heard yet but would make sense is if the Yankees and reds did a bad contract swap. Stroman for Candelario. (1/2)
Alex Jackson on the Yankees 40 man roster
Donβt know if this is a mistake but Alex Jackson is currently listed on the Yankees 40-man roster despite being a NRI with the Reds
Canβt forget Timmy Hill
Goldie got less money than I thought he would. Think he took less so the Yankees could add his old friend Nolan Arenado? Wouldnβt be shocked. Although Curry made it sound unlikely a few weeks ago
I do wonder if Rice would be the BUC. He could easily get 3 starts a week between Wells, Stanton and potentially Goldschmidt needing off days. Cashman said at the beginning of the offseason that they still view catcher as his primary position but that could just be trade value fluff.
Trevy will always have a special place in my heart and I will miss him but this is a great trade
Looks like Devin Williams bought Leiterβs number from him

Only giving up Poteet is some nice work by Cash. Was totally expecting Warren to be in this deal.
I still feel like Bellinger and Walker are their top choices but I feel like 2B will be whoever they can get the best deal on in mid-late January
Iβm sure he will but they are relying on a lot of people to provide innings that theyβve never done before. Feels very risky. Senga is coming off an injury. Montas is pretty consistently hurt and thatβs a lot to ask out of Holmes after being a reliever for so long. They need a Burnes/workhorse.
Yeah the Metβs are confusing me. Spending all that on Soto and then running out with a pretty terrible rotation. I get Sterns is a genius but he never had a rotation that bad on the brewers.
hope Iβm wrong but it feels like the media is talking about the Yanks & Tucker the same way they were talking about the Padres trading Soto to the Jays last year. way more insight into the Yanks talks last year just like the Cubs now and we are only really hearing about Gil being in like Manoah
With today being a travel day I wouldnβt expect many rumors today until maybe late tonight early tomorrow. Would love Tucker but donβt think Crane would approve it. Bellinger, Walker, Fairbanks and Hill is my expectation for the rest of the offseason and maybe another infielder if one is left in Feb
Musts:
Fried
Bellinger
Get two of:
Teoscar
Walker
Wade
Luis Robert
Get 1 of:
Tanner Scott
Fairbanks
Devin Williams
And of course bring back Timmy Hill

With Jansen going to the Rays Iβd imagine the Cubs will have interest in Trevino. Maybe heβd be included in a Bellinger trade
Michael Kay just mentioned that the Yankees held a 90-minute Zoom meeting with free-agent starter Max Fried yesterday it went very well. Apparently Fried was highly impressed, and a follow-up meeting has already been scheduled.
Also I feel like a Bellinger trade is 99% happening regardless of what happens with Juan Soto. Probably have the basic framework set already and the rest of the deal depends on how much money the Yankees will be willing to eat. Would obviously have way more budget room if Soto leaves.
My take on Soto Sweepstakes:
65% Yankees
34% Metβs
1% Red Sox
Only star to ever leave the Yanks was Cano and itβs because the Mariners offered a significantly better deal. Believe the Yanks offer was 8 and Mβs was 10 years. Honestly think it would take $750 minimum for him to end up in queens
Curry has made me very confident that Soto returns plus a Bellinger trade
I will officially be switching to Celsius if they just teased Soto and the Yankees having an agreement.
We are at the point of the Soto sweepstakes where βfanβs with sourcesβ on Twitter say he has an agreement. I saw two different accounts with thousands of followers saying he had picked a team. One Metβs, One Red Sox. Please lord I need this over with and my sweet Soto back in the Bronx
I still think Soto is back but only way this plan is realistic is if they do Snell. They are not going up 6 draft picks, even 4 would be the most they have ever given up
