A sequence of shots from the TV series MASH. Three surgeons are operating in a mobile army surgical theater, and are masked in cotton masks, wearing cotton caps to cover hair, and aprons. Bright lights are visible in their backgrounds. The first, panel shows Frank Burns (an absolute jerk character but Larry Linville, his actor, was not) saying, βEverybody knows war is Hellβ. The second panel shows BJ Hunnicutt (Mike Farrell) saying (sarcastically) β remember, you heard it here last.β The third and fourth panels show Hawkeye Pierce (Alan Alda) saying, βWar isnβt Hell. War is war and Hell is hell and of the two, war is a lot worse.β 5th panel shows Father Mulcahey, the chaplain (William Christopher) saying, βHow do you figure that, Hawkeye?β 6th is back to Hawkeye, saying β Easy, Father. Tell me, who goes to Hell?β 7th is Fr Mulcahey saying β Sinners, I believe.β The last three panels are all Hawkeye, saying, β Exactly. There are no innocent bystanders in Hell. But war is chock full of them. Little kids, cripples, old ladies. In fact, except for a few of the brass, almost everybody involved is an innocent bystander.β

Agree that I hate this is still relevant.
Happy International Game Master's Day!
Just learned about this today, I think it's a great way to pay tribute to Gary Gygax (who passed away March 4th 2008) but also all the game masters and ttrpg designers who bring adventure, community and joy in troubling times

How I arrived on Bluesky:
Thanks for the space!
I recently put out a Compendium of all the canon classes, feats and spells from the 3e/3.5 era Ravenloft setting. Since they've been out of print for a long time, these character options are quite scattered.
I just updated it last night!

D&D with friends literally cures everything
Reposting with ALT because this kind of phenomenal disdain and disrespect from within the industry literally against two of their own titles and the designer who made them is important to recognize.
Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. Itβs always a matter of will not resources.
Check out the blog post above for more details. Or you can go straight to my new itch page to download the Ravenloft 3e/3.5 Compendium for yourselves. It's free to download and use, and is compatible with PF 1e.
I'm so excited how this turned out!

I've been busy working on an entirely niche #dnd resource for the Ravenloft 3e/3.5 campaign setting.
A lot of character options have been lost due to Ravenloft being out of print, on older pdfs and scattered all over.
So I did something about it.π #ttrpgs

My discord friends and I finished watching this group's video of The Forest Oracle.
Kudos to Just Roll With It and company for surviving it; we almost lost our minds watching your playthrough in small doses. No way I'd stay sane hosting it.
Pretty sure the module writer doesn't exist, lol
Hey can we bring back all those internet safety campaigns we had when I was a millennial teen? It is NOT my job to parent someone else's kids and have to submit my ID to places to sanitize the internet for some puritanical outrage about kids. Parents should be doing this themselves.

How do you get people who view your ttrpg projects to give you feedback? I see my blog pages get a good couple of views a day, but there's no feedback or comments.
I love discussing projects and hearing people use my work to inspire their own adventures. But so far it's just close ttrpg friends....
If you need some goods to interact with, I've got you.
I've been working on a 5e replacement. Where I do things like make background mechanically useful, and ancestries balanced! My patrons get access to the playtest materials!
Check it out, it's awesome!

10/ How much do elves eat? Antlered animals suffer from osteoporosis due to antlers needing a lot of nutrients, but they have multi-chambered stomachs so they can digest food.
Do elves eat a ton and have normal human stomachs, are they more stocky so their bodies have the space for a large stomach?
9/ Are non-elves allowed to wear antlers in hats and helmets, or is it considered offensive to elves? Or is it an honor one can earn?
If an elf breaks another's antler, do they have to have it repaired or are they forced to lose one? Are antlers made into weapons so one can avenge their honor?
