Yeah, know the feeling :)
orthographic camera setup looking in the Y axis using a background images to model ontop of. Applying the same texture to a material and UV unwrapping using Project from view or Cylinder uwrap.
I honestly just look at aircraft and rocket reference photos. Can also setup an orthographic camera using a background image, model ontop of it and project from view / cylinder project using the same texture. After a while you'll have a kit to keep using across models.
Forces me to make cutaway and exploded axonometrics quadrupeling work just to justify it :D and cheers.
Bit more of the racing ship which has large silly fuel tanks at the front, atrocious rudder systems and very recognizable rocket engine parts
Bit more. I've started with UV and adding materials on it, but its losing readability. Also spent too long modeling parts that are barely visible because I....am...a fool. Going to go back to the rudders.
Nighty Night!!!!
Oti the penguin showing a good example of "giving back".

Switching over to affinity for illustrator / photoshop/ indesign is pretty painless. Not sure what to do about after effects atm or substance painter as uuclip is not quite there. Blender has pipeline issues when working with 4 other 3D programs across teams that work together. No winning :D
Woah, Kahl! you've been gone for 5 years Sharl exclaimed.
Seems I stopped playing animal cross around halloween time back then considering all the decorations.
Bit of rigging tonight of the rudder.
Tried the Aileron/flaps in conjunction with the ......yoke? But ha ha.
Shapekey on the exhaust next and a test shader that heats up
Work in progress shot of an 3D model aircraft and getting side tracked looking at reference photos
Bit more, but from the front this time as I've been at the weird intake. Need to be careful I don't detail one area up to much compared to the others, so will do the back flappy bit next.... positive that's the technical name [flaps hands in left and right motion]
May drop the front bit. But yeah that's the next chunk until another night. Looking forward to detailing bags and bits stringing it together.
Tonight's bit. I have all the parts i'm making off to one side as instances.
It's a group of blocks vaguely in the shape of a plane to build over.
I have about 45minutes free a day. So been doing the get it started then polish it later thing.
Started building the replacement for the placeholder ship [next post], but got a base animation sorted......sort of, it'll change, learning stuff.
Flat plywood is erm, mmmmm yes, more. Only issue when specifying it was stopping contractors from using the ones with massive logos and text printed on it :D
Continuing with the low to low baking + bevel shader post series, I wanted to show how I’m using @marmoset3d.bsky.social Toolbag to texture while incorporating vector layers for fine detail that would traditionally be baked from a high poly.

As I get deeper into blender its quiet madness. Today was working out maintaining object instances across scenes yet allowing for seperate lighting and material setups per scene on many gb, several thouand object files.
I can't abide shit file management these days :D
Consider supporting this. The first comic collection was excellent and is also available as part of a selection.

My son has been doing 3D modeling for a few years now
He lacks motivation, because he's a bit alone at his age to have #Blender as a hobby
I've been bugging him for months to build up a portfolio of his own
If you are on #Cara don't hesitate to leave a comment or share his work

I work on all those experiences. There is a hell of a lot of work and really quick turn arounds in those sectors even outside Disney.
You get to do short movies, computers games and sports within it all as well.
Wonder if it stems from the age old aguments about if peeing in the shower is okay or not and one of the devs was so worked up over the argument they were just. "Its so wrong i'm gonna label it!"
I'm on there. Sometimes write reviews, generally just rating though. Been running a film get together once a week with friends for a few years now.

Think there have been a few actors specifying this with the whole Peter Cushing fiasco setting it off and hologram music tours not too long ago.
A few sites last September were circulating a parody article about a family in hospital after using a gptchat made mushroom identification book published through Amazon after a few were found on there.
Yep didn't get into game dev until I was 37. Although even then i thought I was applying to theme parks design.
I kinda starting giving up on game dev, but turned out they made AR/VR, arcade games, CGI short movies, interactive movies and ride media as well, so getting to do a whole range now.
Lying low. #b3d #blender #animation
Blender native, I may get the flip fluids add-on it looks useful.
Blenders a bit finicky compaired to what i've seen a collegue do with liquigen / embergen, he also wants to try flip fluids because of the pigment color mixing based on Mixbox
lol, that honestly brightend my day. Thanks
