Awaiting the mighty Mogwai….
@stevetheplanner
Obsessive about noisy indie music. Shoegazer. Town planning ‘geek’. ‘Legacy’ MCFC fan and self-confessed ‘Bert’. Cheerful cynic. Mancunian. Overthinker, insomniac and proud dad. Old twitter refugee. Views and typos are solely my own.
Awaiting the mighty Mogwai….
Neither Haaland or Dias warming up with the rest of our substitutes tonight….
I’ve thought for a bit that this season is the dullest in living memory. It appears I might be right.

Genius record right there.
An album I’m still finding new things in and I’m still not bored of despite constant rotation on my hifi over the years.
Do I dare suggest it’s not even the Pale Saints best LP? (I always preferred their second one - much as I like their debut).
Good excuse listening to both on the way to the Etihad mind ….
If someone in the team is not coming up to bat / pitch to the tune of (br)ice, br(ice) baby then the Phillies social media team needs new positions…..
Victories at the Bernabeu by English teams v Real Madrid in European competitions - City 2, Arsenal 2 and Liverpool 1.
Some victory and achievement tonight. Don’t let anyone tell you different.
Have a spare for MBV tomorrow in MCR should anyone still need one (Mrs I now can’t go). Can meet in town after 6pm to sort exchange etc.
Quiet start at the Ashes then ….
Totally agree. A total noisy force of nature live at that time as well. I still go back to this Boo Radleys musical period regularly. They were fizzing with ideas then.
Villa Away this afternoon…..
October’s listening so far.
The new Just Mustard record is incredible and is on repeat play currently - a must buy in my opinion.
The Gouge Away and Godspeed records are perfect oldies.
The Fall and Wedding Present compilations reflect two of my all time favourite bands.
I think I’m sitting next to the most entitled lad of all time on the train down to Birmingham. ‘Attitude’ doesn’t describe the half of it!
Ah. Wedding Present and Mozart Estate await for me slightly closer to home. Enjoy.
Gig?
Brentford away it is then…..
Current ear worm that’s been stuck in my head all week.
One for all you shoegazers out there.

Still love them despite them being somewhat of a mess as a live proposition nowadays. Capable of brilliance back in the day mind.
You want some hardcore with a touch of post rock and shoegaze thrown in? Of course you do…..
For the record, Gouge Away’s last LP, ‘Dark Sage’, was one of the LP’s of last year imo.

Beautiful photo…..
If you know, you know!
Let the celebrations begin.
Best sight in foot
Best sight in football - United fans disappearing before the end of a derby defeat. No doubt they’ll be creating a myth that they all stayed until the end …. as usual.
Watching the Southampton v Portsmouth game and the crowd started singing ‘one Ricky Hatton’. Thought I must of misheard. Sadly I didn’t.
RIP champ. You represented the blue side of Manchester with distinction and you’ll always be a proper ‘Bert’.
Changed the face of modern goalkeeping in my opinion. Farewell, Ederson. A City great without a doubt.
You can guarantee that if he played for certain red shirted clubs he’d be a world beater. The reality is City believe Donnarumma and Trafford are better than Ederson and Ortega. Based on last season’s form, you’d be hard pressed to disagree (much as I think Ederson is an all time City great).
Fulham getting absolutely ‘sawn off’ by the referee / VAR this afternoon. I’d be furious if I was a Fulham fan. #twoniltothereferee
Cod you believe it!
