Shot at ground level, the image shows a jackrabbit with soft brown fur sitting upright in the image to the right of center, and looking somewhat towards the left. The rabbit is surrounded by the sparse grass of this arid region. She is sitting calmly and appears to be giving a bit of side-eye to the camera.
This white-tailed jackrabbit was trying to be really polite about the dumb jokes I was telling.

Organizations like Appalachian Horse Project have done an amazing job provisioning the horses with mineral blocks and supplemental hay, however, though one group can hardly put a dent in the scale of the problem across the Appalachian coalfields.
A bay stallion with a blaze emerges from a stand of tall green weeds into a short-cropped meadow, with some taller pines in the background.
Here, the same stallion has emerged from the weeds and walks in a relaxed manner across the grazed meadow, and now we can see his sock and stocking markings.
This dude was part of the free-roaming herd of horses in Breathitt County KY before animal control removed them. You can see from my images that the forage here was suboptimal for horses. Not visible is the absence of selenium in the soil, which is an essential nutrient for horses. #photography
