So - a restored Kurtis Trent in the AOD remastered release, coming soon!! WHA!!????!!!! Gosh I’m having quite a complex response to this very welcome news. Getting to see a playable Kurtis with his original abilities is going to be astonishing for me personally - as I know it will be for many fans out there. I’ve longed for something like this for over twenty years as Kurtis was such a satisfying character to create and he never got a fair crack of the whip. When we were recording in London I was hoping for a voice performer who could give me a cool, tough homre, in the mould of Clint Eastwood, Michael Biehn (in Terminator) and Hugh Jackman. Well, I struck dead lucky with Eric Loren who caught him to perfection. Eric was the epitome of the Lone Disc Slinger Dude I wanted to see come to life.
Kurtis was created as an original to hold his own alongside Lara in AOD, of course, but he also carried the potential for his own spin off games and as such he could do so much more than was available to him in AOD when released. The in–game FMVs gave some idea of what we all wanted to see and never did. Ha ha, this is all sooooo exciting even though it also seems a lifetime ago now. In the interim years of waiting I’ve been supported in maintaining my optimistic expectations by a very close circle of friends and colleagues when the likelihood seemed thin at best – so, a huge THANKS to you all guys! And now – GAME ON!
