Water slides on the legs are all done!

While I had some complaints about the previous sections of this build, I think they did a great job with the legs and feet. 👍

Waist and weapons tomorrow. Will be nice if I can finish this out before the weekend. Have a great Friday ahead!

Applying water slide decals to my MG 3.0 RX-78-2 leg assemblies

Got the legs done and am working on the decals. Messed one up so I had to use a regular sticker instead. It’s on a white piece, so not too noticeable.

I thought I’d hate putting decals on the ankle and knee rotators, but those have been my favorites so far! Will finish up later. 😊

I have a hard time dropping $70+ on games these days, but you did remind me that I need to go back to the DQB games (2 in particular), so thank you for that!

Looks great! I have an MG that I keep looking at, so maybe that’ll be one that I build soon.

MG 3.0 1/100 RX-78-2 completed upper body assembly (Gundam gray pour type panel liner, Micron 003 black pen, G-Rework water slide decals, Krylon 1311 matte topcoat)

Arms, shoulders, and beam saber handles done. I like those handles quite a bit on this MG! Nice color separation on them. 👍

Topcoat did a little damage to the metallic stickers, but that’s OK. Unintentional weathering is the story I’m going with. 😂

Legs are up next!

Oops! I thought you were talking about the elbow joint decals. 😅 I used G-Rework water slides instead of the included stickers, which have been great so far.

Thank you! Yeah, they were a test of patience and sanity for sure! 😅 I haven’t topcoated the arms yet (still have to apply the water slides), but I’ll be using Krylon 1311 when I do. 😊

I haven’t built the original RG RX-78-2, just the 2.0. Based on the comparison pictures I’ve looked at though, it’s more detailed and yet also less detailed than the RG 1.0, if that makes any sense! 😅

Sure thing! For shots like this, I’m using an iPhone 15 Pro Max in macro mode. Zoom is anywhere from 1-2x typically. I just make sure it’s not utilizing digital zoom, and that there’s ample light to reduce any blur and noise.

But sometimes I still get it wrong end up with a blurry mess. 😅

I’d like to have a word with whoever designed these elbow sections.

Absolute chaos, but I got ‘em done.

Body and head built, decaled, and topcoated!

Kind of flimsy here and there, so it doesn’t exactly inspire complete confidence/satisfaction when snapping it together, but it sure does look nice when finished.

Sure! I don’t paint my kits (except for a little bit of color correction), so I’ve been using Krylon 1311 matte rattle cans, which are about $6 each here in the US at Walmart. I do a light mist coat and then a heavier second to finish. Works like a charm every time!

Another great WFM kit! I love how the bit staves look, especially on the backpack. Went with the GUND-BIT rifle config for this pose as well.

Never topcoated it, so I did that today.

Nice! And dude, I was just at the hobby store earlier to “look” and they had a pile of 6 PGU Nu boxes. It took every fiber of my being to walk out of there empty handed. 😂

It’s my favorite JRPG series, but probably Dragon Quest 6.

It’s not a bad game, I enjoy its job system, and I love that you can travel the world on a flying bed, but I just can’t for the life of me think of anything else all that memorable about it.

Aside from the floppiest wings I’ve ever experienced on a core fighter, this was decent.

I’ll likely just stow it away inside the main assembly’s body though, and forget about it entirely. 😂

I’m finally going through Atari 50: The Anniversary Collection on Switch and this section really hit home.

A tale as old as time. And very little has changed.

More positively though, I absolutely LOVE these collections of video game history.

The Atari 2600 was our very first console.

My GOTY pick for 2022. What a game. I'm typically not into chasing high scores and optimizing runs through levels, but it was so much fun to do so in this one! Memorable story and soundtrack too.

I keep getting tempted, but ultimately my Steam Deck OLED and PC are more than enough for emulation. I also know that if I got one, I’d spend 99% of my time on tinkering and setup and 1% actually playing stuff on it. 😂 But that’s just me!

The pics of it on the box do look great! I also have the G-Rework water slides for it, so I’m looking forward to seeing what it looks like with those too. 🙂
