The only alternatives that come to mind are more generic "menu" icons like the ellipsis, three bars or a bar with a down arrow below it.
This is А. How do you tell it from A? It used to be that if the left leg is straight it's A and if it's curved then it's А. All standard fonts make the A and А the same. Fortunately А occurs infrequently in English, and context will usually give you enough information to tell whether it's А or A.
