Creating holes on the map or using spirits to make a river are two ways to alter terrain and mess with the enemy positioning in Esperia. In "phases" turn-based battles, movement is very important, and the ability to affect it could very well save your units' lives.

In Esperia, some optional quest maps are reused with different configuration and objectives. This is a good way to make the 'same' map feel different.

"Sorry, my hand slipped" was probably what her father said that time. Hengist never appears in Esperia, but he's an unsung hero for that one.
I doubt a lot of players actually read that relationship conversation, since Rowena is a late game character.
Was fun to write though.

I found an old version of Esperia on my PC, from Dec 2019 (at the time of the kickstarter). It's funny to see how the maps changed, but remained the same. Also seeing that 4:3 small res hurts now, I forgot it was such a pain to scroll the map xD

In Esperia's last update we introduced the new load and save screens! They're now displayed in dedicated screens with a different color, more files, but the main addition was the summary feature for saves outside the map!
