SO I started a substack, with all the people who seem to need the help freelancing to make a go of it. If you're one of those (or know someone who is), this might help them.

I keep forgetting this app exists.

Here's another day of my Build 30 in 30 self challenge. I coded a deity generator in Python that integrates with my entire pipeline up to now. #Python #GameDev #ProceduralGeneration #BuildInPublic

Here's the alpha for this game. I'm looking for feedback. The form's embedded inside the game for easy access. You're also welcome to share this around if you'd like. The more the merrier. #gamedev #androidgame #mobilegaming
Help a brother out fellow #gamedev or even #AndroidGamers?
I'm trying to see if this game concept is fun before I sink more time into it.
I found that not getting overlaps was difficult. But arguably I didn't sit down with my PHB to come up with combat encounters.
Made an RPG encounter generator today doing 5-room dungeons with enemies and loot.
Turns out game design is harder than algorithms. Who knew balancing faction modifiers across 9 biomes would take longer than writing the selection code?

I love when a project starts with, βWe donβt really have documentationβ¦ we have some notes somewhere.β
Itβs like being handed a treasure map drawn by someone who was actively being chased by wolves.
Checklists donβt make good memories.
The best stories Iβve brought home came from slowing down, not speeding through.
My new piece: Slow Travel for People Who Hate Lists
jdookeran.medium.com/slow-travel-...
I wrote this for people who believe in slow travel and sustainable tourism more than lists.
I'm a features writer and I've done extensive work on pop culture science for The Travel before. Any particular field of science you're looking for? I'm interested in pitching.
Great! I'll pitch you guys later today once I organize my thoughts.
Definitely interested on pitching you guys. Is Tabletop limited to just D&D or is there room for non+D&D franchises? Because there's a ton of great TTRPGs that get overshadowed by D&D.
Founders donβt usually lack ideas. They struggle with how those ideas come across. I help refine that #voice so the best thinking gets heard. Iβm opening space to work with one or two #founders this month. Reach out if thatβs you.

Here's some fun writing, if you're into noir fiction. And yes, the entire thing so far is free.

Founder content math: every hour writing is an hour not spent on product, customers, or fixing fires. You know it builds credibility, but time always loses. Push it to nights/weekends & it never happens. #startups #founderlife #contentmarketing #buildinpublic thechain.substack.com/p/the-founde...
hey Paul, Definitely up for doing some retrospectives on NES games, got anything RPG related?
I'm pretty good at covering Cricket (if you're looking for that) as well as Caribbean music and entertainment because of my background.

A metal man holding up a tree in Recoleta, Buenos Aires. The cool part?the guy is welded out of scrap metal parts. And he actually has the weight of the tree on his shoulders! #photography #buenosaires #travel #dailyinspiration
Clear water, smooth stones, and the kind of quiet that feels earned. Can you guess where this is?

Quiet palms along the Ortoire River mouth by the Atlantic. Manzanilla named for manchineelβs βsmall applesβ. Be careful though. The Manchineel will kill you. #dailyinspiration #travelphotography #CaribbeanVibes
Bacolet, Tobago. Shade, sea, and not much else. Which is exactly the point.

Shark Hole, Barbados. No sharks, just a carved-out cove with calm water and coral cliffs. Easy to miss, but so worth the detour!

A driveway near Parlatuvier, Tobago. Just morning light, moss on concrete, and no reason to rush anywhere.

El Misti over Arequipa. It hasnβt erupted in centuries, but itβs still active. Looks calm now.

Midday at Huaca Pucllana. You take a short walk and end up face to face with a pyramid in the middle of Lima. No fanfare, just bricks and time.

Huacachina, Peru. A palm-lined oasis in the middle of the sand. Everyoneβs here for the dunes, but this quiet moment was the better view.

Home is where you make it. In less than two months, I'll be making somewhere else home. But then I'll miss shots like these.

A quiet fountain in Cusco, Peru. Stopped because I saw alpacas. Even the stone ones have presence.

Somewhere before Salkantay Pass. The air felt thin, the sky felt heavy, and I stopped pretending the mountain owed me anything.
