Hair ice on dead wood surrounded by dead leaves (hair ice: ice in very narrow "hairs", that has its freezing properties changed by a gas produced by a specific fungus)
Very fascinated by the rare occurrence of hair ice I had the pleasure to enjoy today in our woods. It occurs when a log is infested with a specific fungus at a bit below freezing point, as the gas produced by the fungus change the crystallisation properties of water
