oh my god i'd completely forgotten this one
oh my god i'd completely forgotten this one
This game beats ass, if you slept on this sucker a few years back, good time to give it a try.
ooo I'll have to look into it! I definitely found the turn-based approach in Divinity / BG3 a little less overwhelming to manage
I could see it being fun! Admittedly, I have no idea how an old school CRPG would play for our audience, but it could be worth trying a smaller one sometime down the road as a test run
Noted! I've bounced off the classic isometric CRPG format a few times in the past, but your Pillars video really has me itching to give them another shot sometime
Also, it's an EXCELLENT video
@noahgervais.bsky.social I'm curious: having now spent so much time with both the Baldur's Gate and Pillars of Eternity series, which of them feels to you like the better genre entry point for a newcomer today?
ugh that is some garbage :(
two weeks later and i still can't get this out of head, especially as i work through some of my first FF games
the internet loves to give modern pokemon shit for its graphics, but by refusing to participate in the AAA graphics arms race, they have unambigiously dominated the culture. they won.
If you have the means, please donate to the Trans Continental Pipeline right now. They are a Colorado based org that helps trans people relocate and they are overwhelmed with requests. Colorado borders Kansas, and TCP has the infrastructure to help get people out.

Nah, mostly just wanting to better understand how to avoid issues in recording that create a bunch of time-consuming repair work in post
kill all fake lovers
I'm glad it's sounding reasonably decent at least!
or alternatively, I ask "What's the correct, fast way to fix this issue? I've just been cleaning it up manually and it takes forever"
and then they nod and say "Yep, pretty much"
my worst case scenario is they say "It sounds fine, relax"
someday I'm going to hire an audio engineer person to come over here and explain to me everything I'm doing wrong
Listen, either this is a lie or it is a sign that they're winding down Xbox.
Nadella's previous Thing was "make Microsoft software available on any device via Cloud" and now it is to "diffuse AGI across the entire globe".
It always ripples through
(go watch the video, it's very good)

it's legit a fantastic video, but also this made me laugh very hard
Just a hot tip but if you see anyone in games talking about unpaid internships it's worth noting that in most countries, having an intern do the work a full employee would usually do for no pay is in fact extremely illegal
Never a big Narnia guy but this 6 seconds typifies everything I love about British television.
I work in an indie incubator space and so many of the more experienced devs/teams are DYING to help people, but those in need are often too scared/intimidated to ask. Don't be, just ask!
The decision to focus on live service games has to be one of the worst things Sony has ever done, and the fallout has been insane. Broken studios. So much lost dev time and money. It's so maddening and sad.
70 people paying the price because fewer than 15 people decided that millions of dollars had to be poured into the riskiest part of the video game business.
Burnout 3 is underrated as one of the very, very best games of all time because you can show Burnout 3 footage to people two decades later and their reaction will still be "hell yeah, this rules. I wanna play this right now."
I lived there nine years and never understood

Looks like F.D Signifier's Tyler Perry video has been taken down already.
Tyler Perry REALLY doesn't want you to see it. Wonder why.
...
Anyway, it's up on Nebula right now. And you can get a free trial to the site.

It's bittersweet seeing a legend like James Baxter pop in to guest-animate a sequence for some TV series now and then
On the one hand: holy shit James Baxter is one of the best to ever do it
On the other: the infrastructure that cultivated James Baxter's skills doesn't really exist anymore
Frequently wrong about themselves Sure, there are complex psychological issues at play, but surely people can at least be trusted to tell you about themselves, right? Unfortunately not. A particular AAA developer I know of once sent surveys to 1000 players asking them which game they had played the most, then compared it with the data of what they had actually played. Not a single one answered correctly. Zero out of one thousand players could remember their own habits enough to tell which game theyβd played the most. Player answers were so consistently wildly wrong that the team involved thought that their data must have been corrupted. Upon validating that it was in fact accurate, they went back to the players and told them what their actual most played games were, and every single one said something along the lines of βOH! Right. Well, that makes senseβ. When people tell you things theyβre really telling you the stories they tell themselves about themselves, and those stories may not have anything at all to do with reality.
there u go, bless
