As a top session musician in LA during the 1960s & 1970s, Carol Kaye’s bass was the foundation for dozens of popular songs. Kaye (born today in 1935) has a famously intuitive relationship with composer Brian Wilson. Kaye’s distinctive bass playing is featured on many of the Beach Boys’ hits.
Necking has invited like-minded collaborators to participate in a series of stunts that break Necking into its composite parts and themes. This five chapter essay will cite influences lofty and lowly, using the language of some of our best misfits!
