if you don’t get antibiotics in the first 2-3 weeks of having it, they won’t do anything and you just have horrible symptoms for weeks if not months. i caught it before i saw anybody else in person. im so so glad i worked from home and didnt see patients even when it was just a scratchy throat.

masked indoors in florida & on the plane and was only around my family with the exception of being outside at the beach. not sure how i got it. vaccinated for it as a kid w/ boosters. the chain reaction of small little things that lead me to discover this is insane.

dr says “of course!” and i get the bloodwork done. wake up tuesday with a scratchy throat. decide to wfh & moved my pt appts to telehealth.felt worse weds.worse thurs.worse fri. yesterday get a call from chicago dept of health. labs were flagged. i have WHOOPING COUGH.5 days of antibiotics/isolation

mr dr appts are usually telehealth check ins for my med refill but by the grace of god i randomly decided to make it in person instead on monday bc it meant i could get in sooner. at the last second, i also asked for a titer test to make sure i’m all set vaccine-wise with all this rfk shit happening

sometimes i watch a movie and think “wow that guy is doing a terrible british accent” and then i google it and the guy is actually british

sometimes i think about how i could never kill a person. could never allow myself to take a human life. but then i log onto twitter for about 5 minutes and its filled with nazis and transphobes and i’m like “you know what…”
