As of today I have been in this country for 9 years. Also as of today Cally has been gone for 2 months. Both of these things are bringing up a lot of emotion. Sigh.
Work has been a real trash fire of late which sucks as well. Like timing you guys...cmon. Enjoy your time away though.
It has been a thoroughly awful month or so. Two weeks from tomorrow I get an unexpected two week vacation home. Sad circumstances (cat having passed) but with other terrible things happening it will be good to take husband and just go be in the sun for a bit.
Also to be clear I will go solo. I'm not afraid of my own company. Just there are sometimes when it would be fun to go with someone or a group.
I need a theater buddy in the UK. I have a lot of friends but due to various different circumstances none of them have theatre money. I have theatre money and a spouse who doesn't like the theater much bc being anywhere but the floor gives him vertigo.
to be clear my parents hate Trump and don't vote republican. They moved to be by where my brother worked but they hate it there.
Freedom also means something different. Found 2 reasonably progressive people while going to catsit for my parents in August. A rarity for a town with more Trump 2024 flags than schools/libraries combined. I said is it still a hellscape living over there? And they were like we are trying to escape.
Anyone have random songs that just mark a time of great sadness in your life? Like not even necessarily sad songs but at the moment you were hurting they were your sad anthem? Last time I had a big moment it was Bridge over Troubled Water (I know not a sad song) and it had me in its grasp.
Man the health anxiety post cancer treatments is next level. I've been ok since 2006 but the panic the second something seems out of place is so real. Glad you were able to pinpoint a less sinister and much more wholesome cause.
First day without our Cally cat. Had a vet come round the house and sort her here but I've taken the week off work because I am not ok and I refuse to struggle through crying to deal with work stress. She is so missed. She was deeply ingrained in our day to day activities.
Thanks Mike. Makes us very sad too. Seemed like she was slowing down but it was slow and then suddenly it sped up quite a bit. She's got her blankets, she's drinking and using the cat box. She's not very hungry but we are getting a bit into her. Will miss her hugely.
Insanely tough week thus far. Our cat is declining in health. If we can keep her comfy she has a liver ultrasound on Monday but we have a palliative care vet on call in case we need to say goodbye asap. Gonna miss her so much that I have been crying for four days straight.
I will crowdfund seasons until he has to be replaced by Suella and then I'll crowdfund more seasons.

Also now that it's finally not an oven I'm ready for sweatshirts and comfiness but instead of cool air and leaves turning this is England so its time for rain 24/7 for the next 9 months.
Getting super burned out on work now that I have things to look forward to. Unfortunately I have do quite a lot of non work non fun things first as well. Motivational issues are so real.
Another week done and marked safe from keeping our mental health working group from falling to the three members of it who think everyone with poor mental health should just eat better and exercise.
LOL I miss it so much. But if I want to eat it like I miss it...I need to exercise less like I have a desk job.
