$300 Million in jet planes lost to a fuckup.
Thatβs 83 five year NIH R01 grants burned in minutes due to error, aka poor execution of this unnecessary war which serves only to make the world more dangerous.

If youβre watching Casey Meansβ Surgeon General confirmation hearing and you are now certain sheβs unqualified, you can join @defendpublichealth.bsky.social in our efforts to stop her confirmation.
It will take less than 5 minutes.

I know from eye witnesses that RFK Jr wears jeans to gym regularly. But jeans in an ice bath?! Heβs a parody of himself.
Trump and his goons pushed out (or didn't replace) more than 10,000 federal government STEM Ph.D.s since he took office, representing 106,636 years of federal work experience. www.science.org/content/arti...
Even Trump didnβt watch the Turning Point USA half time show. Sad.
@uam-umd.bsky.social are fighting for collective bargaining rights for non-tenure track faculty at Maryland's 4yr public universities. Use the link to send a letter supporting them to Senate President Bill Ferguson.
News from central Jersey: I'm running to represent New Jersey's 12th Congressional District.
By entering the fray, I hope to bring ideas of repairing our frayed republic. Not only to defend it in 2026, but to build something stronger, for generations to come!

Stop being lazy bums and report your subcortical findings.
Nine subcortical/cerebellar atlases included in the subcortex_visualization Python package (and subcortexVisualizationR package in R). The atlases are depicted in two-dimensional vector graphic format.
The extended version of my thesis procrastination project/subcortex visualization package is out now in both Python and R, now that Iβve graduated π€ This figure shows the 9 atlases included (and counting)!

Downfall Bovino Edition. You're welcome.
Republicans woke up one day and said βletβs turn a US city into a war zoneβ
Third world shit right here.
I think most Americans have been led to believe that "non-violent protest" means non-confrontational demonstration held with all the proper permits. They don't get that it was non-violent direct action that was practiced in the 60s and confrontation was the point.
Americans need to stop trying to wait it out and think that things will return to normal. They need to start taking the actions to ensure things return to normal.
Another reason why DEI is important: we, or our parents, have lived through this in our home countries. Americans have taken their democracy for granted. Refugees have seen this shit before and have experience in how to deal with it.
Seven Nazi collaborators voted to fund ICE's terrorist attacks on Americans.
Tom Suozzi (New York)
Henry Cuellar (Texas)
Don Davis (North Carolina)
Laura Gillen (New York)
Jared Golden (Maine)
Vincente Gonzalez (Texas)
Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (Washington)
Seven collaborators who MUST be primaried.
Also call this loser and tell him to resign. (202) 225-5936
Seriously @alsobrooks.senate.gov , get off twitter
Republicans used immigration to get their base angry at democrats prior to the election. The inaction from democratic leaders seems to be a similar strategy for the midterms. They donβt want to stop Trump bc they want us angry for the midterms. Call this Cuck and tell him to resign.
I really like this idea. Going to journal clubs in grad school excited about the paper we read this week, and then having all the more senior people bash the article killed my participation.
Jolly Good Ginger
So, correct me if Iβm wrong, but all you have to do to abduct a woman now is dress in camo, cover your face and have a gun and we have to submit or risk death? How are we supposed to know if youβre ICE or not?
Tidal can do it automatically when you do their subscription.
I am a lawyer and yes, they should be doing that.
Rather than simply boycotting e-commerce giants, Free DC is organizing a "procott" in time for holiday shopping.
Their local shopping guide features 50+ spots on board to support D.C.'s autonomy, including @solidstatebooksdc.bsky.social, @metrobardc.bsky.social, @loyaltybooks.bsky.social, and more:
The DC shooting story is really getting to me because we literally trained this man as a child soldier for a death squad in a forever war and Stephen Miller et al want to blame it on other cultures? It's our culture, American culture, that killed that woman.

These 20 House Democrats just joined Republicans in voting to fully repeal DC's police reform laws.
Wiping off the books critical laws on use of force, transparency, and preventing violent cops from getting rehired.
They think that they should have more say over DC police than the people of DC.
D.C.βs pretrial bail system mirrors the federal one β no one is jailed just for being charged, and judges already weigh risk & safety, not wealth. Congress shouldnβt be micromanaging local D.C. laws. If we want fairness & accountability, we should pass D.C. statehood & let D.C. chart its own future.
