I'd been wondering who was doing the choosing of these books--I'd assumed McNally since they're ALL they publish, whereas Faber already does heaps of stuff, but maybe I was wrong. Either way, of course, I'm very happy to have them!
It's crazy how hard it is to get hold of Asian literature in Australia (even though Asia is [points in almost every direction around us]) unless it's already being published in the US.

unfortunately paternal grandfather was also extremely cranky and had huge unfounded prejudices ("gutter writing") about vast amounts of literature, so we never really talked about it
