I would lean on yes!
I think you need to watch me back or something, it doesn't give me the option to DM you.
Hello! You're still open for commissions? Since you said you play Delta-V Rings of Saturn I take it you do hard sci fi ship design yeah? If you're open to it, I'd wanna commission you for a ship design, mind if I DM you?
that is a very cool hard sci fi ship design!
I can manage that! Mind if I DM you?
How much you usually charge for a commission for say one ship design? I'm curious now.
PS, I'm guessing the end with the bigger cone is the front?
Is that Bussard Ramjet/Ramscoop ship? Such an awesome design!
12. Once Nirmala was in prison, one interview asked her what motivated her. She replied, people don't need democracy, they want stability, education, healthcare etc. She said that most people aren't smart enough to know the implications of their vote, and she wanted to simplify things for them.
11. In the end it seems humans especially, tend to tolerate any system as long as they have a roof over their head, a good job to go to and a safe neighborhood, many turned a blind eye when their socialist neighbor they debated with at coffee shops suddenly wasn't in their apartment anymore.
10. During this whole time, most Martians I met when I visited refrained from speaking about politics, looking over their shoulder, many of them didn't think it would end up like this, they ignored warnings till it was too late. Some even cheered it on but after Nirmala was gone, they were ashamed.
9. She would be prime minister of Mars for over 20 years, she was serving her fifth term with her daughter, Admiral Annisa Nirmala keeping control of the Martian military, purging or silencing opposition till the Outer Planets and the Belt rebelled against Martian rule.
8. She also did subtle tactics like provide priority maintenance and early access for public housing for the districts that voted for them. Step by step, she made opposition extremely dangerous with the MIS keeping tabs on everyone, and using Martian nationalism to keep most of the people compliant
7. She got rid of her opposition through defamation and libel lawsuits against journalists, opposition parties and organizations. She made protesting difficult(with needs for permits and where and when to do it), and gained the authority to appoint editors for its main news outlets.
6. She kept elections free but not fair at all, with the leading party with the vast majority of resources and support, giving their opposition only two weeks to make their case, the leading PM also has no laws against dictating the districts in an election, leading to uncontrolled gerrymandering.
5. She never claimed to be a dictator outright, but she takes off term limits, guts her opposition, began labeling socialists, activists and union leaders potential terrorists and started being disappeared, the Martian Intelligence Service(MIS) creates a secret police branch, doing the dirty work.
4. Shortly after PM Nirmala began consolidate power, by saying its to protect Mars from Belter terrorists or Martian defectors, bit by bit she chipped away at the Martians' rights and make small changes to their constitution, Instituting conscription to face Earth as a cold war between them.
3. Then one day January 19, 2248, a terrorist attack destroys the space elevator that jutted from the capital of Arsia City to their moon Phobos, killed thousands, wounded over ten thousand, it was the single worst disaster in Mars' barely 6-decade history at the time. It was remembered as "119".
2. Mars was democratic but its growing rivalry with Earth, and the paranoia that comes with that, had an ex-military Admiral named Arya Nirmala, with the media also feeding this, she won the election by a landslide, at first everything seemed fine, she built infrastructure and improved things.
1.Let me tell you all a story about how Mars fell into a dictatorship. From things I've read, Mars became independent from Earth back in 2190, overtime it grew in wealth and power, using the resources of the Asteroid Belt and exploiting the resources, Mars had consistent growth for decades.
I love worldbuilding and your work has been fantastic. I'm very interested in what you'll come up with! I'm not sure what's a good place to host things to write, it seems the other commenters have some ideas!
Gray wolf!
I can dig that!
I like windrider or solar windmill, RAIR...wouldn't Ramscoop be sufficient?
My last moments be like D: or "oh sh*t"
What about mining He3 in Uranus' atmosphere? Though to be fair there's also boron-11 in various bodies in the Belt and Outer Planets if I remember correctly.
I Know right? Awesome show, best sci fi show i ever watched and it ruined star wars and star trek for me.
That's fair! I was just curious(and nerdy) :P
What's the mass of the ship? How many people are on it? Im quite curious of the stats if this ship, im reminded of the Venture Star from Avatar and that Valkyrie ship you did. The waterskii design is just an elegant way to the stars. Second to that is a cool laser sail ship imo.
*I'll give it a read
