Now 16 dead in the Sydney terror attack incl one child. Several more critically injured w 29 in hospital, so there’s every chance the # of dead will grow.

Every Aussie needs to take some time to reflect on this tragedy & horror. We must do better. Violence is *never* the answer.

This is precisely the kind of Australia I’m so very proud of - everyday citizens putting themselves on the line to save & help others. We are a country almost entirely of immigrants but there is a spirit that permeates our people - one that says, “Nah mate, I’ve got you”.

It is. Just want to be there to offer support and give every Jewish Aussie a big hug right now. I hope every Aussie takes some time to think about our speech as well, so that no act of violence like this ever happens on our shores ever again.

My heart is also with the Australian Jewish community. There is no excuse for the hate and violence that has been perpetrated against them today. None.

Waking up to the news of a terrorist event in Sydney that has targeted a #Hanukkah celebration with multiple dead. Like many Aussies I’m devastated by this incident. There is no place in Australian society for this kind of hate. It goes against *everything* we are as a nation.

China now dominates in every technology defining the modern world China used to be trying to catch the West, specifically the US. Then it caught up. Now the West is trying to catch up to China, but likely can't.

This is not in our interests.
