Now, with this « entry MacBook », does it make sense to buy an iPad for everything except creative arts…? Will see how the customers will respond to that :)

Bought mine 12 years ago in Canada, refurbished, to finish my studies. It was one of the best laptop I ever had. I was very disappointed with the Macbook (12 inch), which was ridiculously expensive and way less powerful…
I really liked your interviews here:

J’ai vraiment adoré cette chronique de Super Vieux Jeux, que de souvenirs!
Aussi, aujourd’hui, je n’ai qu’une hâte: écouter ce que toi et @julielebaron.bsky.social vont pouvoir dire de ce nouvel opus dans SoJ.
Pour moi c’est quasi l’événement de ce début d’année dans le jeu-vidéo!
Again, I cannot emphasize enough: do not go to the US even if you're privileged enough to have never been scared or worried of a border crossing in you're life. Do not go ESPECIALLY for something as optional & outrageously expensive as GDC.

Thank you for the feedback :)
You mean, for the save slot buttons?
All menus and transitions are done for « Good Luck, Mr Bong! », my #playdate game :)
The puzzle assets need to be replaced. However I don’t want to work on that until I have finished the puzzle design phase.
Here is a GIF!
Release in May / June 2026 🤞

> "currently the President of Microsoft’s CoreAI product"
Lol.
I guess only Microsoft can kill a Microsoft product as fast.
Very fun story to read, thank you for sharing it!
Such a disaster… I really don’t think it was because of Cuisset and its team, but more a « management issue » from Microids (CEO needs money-money-money right now!). It was the case for several games that have been released at that time, like Tintin and Goldorak… very very sad to see that.
If you look at RE1 the character does not matter. You are chosing actually the difficulty of your play session.
RE1 could have been one character, with the story of Chris (to meet Rebecca) and choosing between « medium » difficulty or « hard ».
Because, for both, you start and end at the same place.
If this can help you a bit more, I have another mantra which is « do not write based on your design, but design based on the story ».
If the story you want to tell fits for 1 character, then make it for 1 character. Everything else does not matter.
Oh! AI bot found 🙃🙃
My mantra is always « keep it simple ». If you never experienced horror and 1-story-driven game then it should be simpler to experience that with 1 player and 1 character. And then, for the next one, expérience with 2 players… like Capcom did with RE2 actually.
Very cool! Thanks for the links :)
Very nice! Will take a look, thanks, and congratulations for the release :)
Is it possible to know which font did you used for the title please (upper right)? Did you used open-source tools or existing assets to draw the background(s)?
I can't convey with words how utterly revolting is to find your own work regurgitated by genAI.
Left: Owl Witch, watercolour, 2021.
Right: ..whatever that is
Interesting to see « overcompensation theory » applied for countries.
As an example, we got the idea that men buy big cars to compensate for their small… y’know.
But #America has been doing this for decades! Look at the number of movies where they save the world!!!
I saw this pattern before and I think it comes mostly from hypocrites people. The same kind of people who reject a pull request because it lacks documentation, and never wrote a single doc line in its life.
AI art is mostly visible in pictures and videos. But for « text »…
I really like the idea of using the crank with the d-pad for a shooter 👍
Cc @they-use-ai.bsky.social
Seems like @arstechnica.com is actually using AI (despite their promise to not use it…) for their articles.
As a result, they misquoted a person, with full of hallucinations.
You lost a reader guys, kuddos 👏

Is anyone playing at the switch 2 version?
I was a bit disappointed by the rendering resolution in the démo (on handheld mode), and the controls were a bit « laggy » to me… did they improve this in the game?
Oh, and I forgot to say... The crank can be used here to change the camera!
As you can see in the background, next to the trees, you have three other cameras. Turning the crank of the #playdate will actually give you another view of the level.
Still some work to do on this #indiegame.
The game graphics are still in work in progress, and yes I draw VERY WELL trees in the backgrounds.
(Yes. those white "gribouillis" are actually trees. Don't laugh. Please.)
I have to work on the fire effect too (its intensity increases as your time to finish the level is diminishing).
#solodev
After a long rest, I finally got back to #gamedev.
I did program half of the puzzles, and I made very deep changes to handle some #game mechanics.
Also... I added a menu screen, options, saves, and some "monitor glitch" effects, as you "see" the game through a webcam. #screenshotsaturday #playdate
Step by step! I always keep a list of tiny tasks, mostly part of some bigger steps. Feels great at the end of the week to see the number of checked items…
Happens to me aaaaall the time ^^’
