Took a several month break earlier in the year but have been playing consistently since about May. I’ve watched lots of tutorials, both general and Chun Li specific. Working on oki and punish counters helped me advance through Plat. Now working on improving whiff punishes and corner pressure.

@notpatrick.com a long time ago on @dlchypetrain.bsky.social you asked listeners to let you know how our SF6 journeys were going. I’m back to report that I finally reached my goal of hitting Diamond (started at Silver last year)

Ben Schwartz and Friends- Hijacked Plane Interview YouTube video by rejectedjokes

This comedy clip came up in my YouTube feed and I had to do a double take when I recognized the audience member who was telling the story to Ben Schwartz

Glad you’re loving it. I haven’t checked out the audio version for this one. My favorite audiobook narration is Peter Kenny’s rendition of The Witcher novels.

Perhaps this is the AI Overlord’s way of preparing you for your new career after it renders your current job obsolete.

Between this and you being frightened by the mirror at the hotel at ngConf, a pattern is starting to emerge.

@joshmorony.com The wait is finally over… sort of…

I’m morbidly curious where ChatGPT took the story. I wonder if the outlines are available (no way I could read all of this)

I’ll get you a VIP (GDE) library card to my bookshelf as well

I got the whole series deeply discounted years ago when a local books store had a going out of business clearance sale.

Ha! Tell you what, if you’re out this way next year for NgConf I’ll let you check out a few with no late fees. I do enjoy curating and organizing my bookshelf. I’ve found a surprising numbers of my books at Goodwill in new or near-new condition. Least I could do for all your great Angular videos.

These too have been waiting patiently on my bookshelf for years. I did start Quicksilver years ago in college but I wasn’t ready for Stephenson at that point.

What else is on your β€œto read next” list? For me it’s Gardens of the Moon, The Evening and the Morning, The Blade Itself, The Talisman and (of course) Hyperion. I’ve also been really tempted to dive back into my favorite novel of all time, Le Comte de Monte Cristo.

I thoroughly enjoyed Something Wicked and I appreciated the lyrical prose much more than the first time I read it in high school. I can definitely see its influence on writers like Neil Gaiman and Stephen King (especially It). Plus, what a stellar opening.

Still as relevant today as it was 11 years ago.

Also recently re-read all of A Song of Ice and Fire (along with Fire & Blood and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms) in the hopes that by the time I finished The Winds of Winter would be out. Still waiting.

Just finished Something Wicked this Way Comes and started into Lonesome Dove. I’ve had the whole Hyperion series sitting on my bookshelf for almost a decade now. @jaycooperbell.dev has also recommended it. Perhaps it’s time.
