Happy Halloween!

Second play test of the day for Frog of War went great. I'm confident saying that our unit balance is done, and we can move on to testing our last mechanic (repairing units). :D

Three, count 'em, three Frog of War play tests this week! Really pushing through the tests so we can get into the art phase of this.

Fishtank: A fishbowl on tank treads with a large turret on one side and a machine gun on the other. Some fish are in the bowl. The top is capped by a tank hatch.

Ghillie Newt: A red newt wearing a ghillie suit. They're carrying a large anti-material rifle. Maybe aiming it, maybe just carrying it.

Missile Toad: A toad dressed up like a self-propelled missile artillery. It has a missile launcher on its back, with one of the missiles firing.

Dragoon Fly: A dragonfly carrying a large beetle in its legs. The beetle is armed with gun turrets. The dragonfly is pictured setting the bettle down on the ground.

Bee Bee Gun: A big fat bumblebee carrying an equally large cannon in its forelimbs. Rear legs may be seen loading pollen balls into the gun.

Rosy Missile Moth: A rosy maple moth carrying missile pods under its wings. May be firing some of them at a target, in the style of a helicopter firing rocket pods.

Ribbet Propelled Grenade: A frog carrying a RPG, firing it at something. Instead of a plume of fire from the rocket, though, it's a sound bubble that says "RIBBET!"

AttAxalotl Submarine: An axolotl wearing a bad submarine costume. The axolotl looks happy to be there, and is holding a torpedo ready to throw it like a football.

THAADpoles: A group of tadpoles around a missile launcher (think HIMARS or THAAD), preparing to launch at a target.

Today's Frog of War test introduced Entrenchment (defensive bonuses) and production changes (increasing cost of air units) to the game. And lo! No stalemate in a two player game! More tests to follow to make sure that issue is gone for good.

A wooden box with leather details all sitting on a very messy workbench.

A wooden box with leather details all sitting on a very messy workbench.

It's not quite done.. but close enough to post here.

My daughter has a 'memory' box that she saves old movie stubs, plane tickets, cards & stuff like that.

So I thought I'd make her a treasure chest for her treasures.

I'm a crap woodworker.. I'm an iffy leather worker..

Newest tool in my arsenal for making stuff just got in. My first ever mechanical keyboard. It is so satisfying.

A story of need and desperation, and what you are in the dark. What you're willing to do when you never have enough, and temptation is offered. And a story about killing vampires. :D

Frog of War, our punny tactical board game, has just been updated from version 0.1.5 to 0.1.6; the going's slow, but we're almost there. Just a few more tweaks to iron out the last balance issues.

The current test began in September and is planned to run for six to twelve months. [6/6]

JiB uses Seref’s Advantage System. This allows players to stack advantages from 0-9, which a d10 is rolled against. Getting their advantage score or lower results in a success. The lower the better. Defensive actions act as penalties to these rolls. [5/6]

Gameplay involves buying military units with a point system. Managing resources through trade. Engaging in espionage and diplomacy with Player and Non-Player nations. Battles focus on the strategic level, with turns covering months of combat. [4/6]

The world of JiB is post apocalyptic. 1/3rd of the global population died to the German Flu. Nations collapsed. The old powers were wiped away. And chaos is the norm in the new world. Players shape the new world as they emerge. Whether the world is restored, or falls further, depends on play. [3/6]

The game is set in an alt-history cold war, where Germany used a bioweapon in the waning days of WW2. Allied troops carried the disease across the globe and the world crashed into quarantine in 1945. Players take the role of nations emerging from quarantine in 1950. [2/6]

What do we have going on right now? Well, we’re doing a pretty big play test for Jus In Bello right now. So, what’s JiB? A grand strategy RPG. Players control nations instead of characters. Each round is an in game year. [1/6]

Heya bluesky. Just moved ourselves over here from twitter. We're Seref Games. A lil indie syndicalist ttrpg studio. Workin' on our own set of d10 mechanics for character and grand strategy level play.

Right now we got a ttrpg set in editing and a grand strategy one in play testing. :D
