Yesterday realised I could EQ out the tone on input fx line, BUT, it was still there after on record, which meant it was being added in the pc. My money is it was the ADC-DAC and drivers issue. A new interface today immediately cleaned it up. I've been playing distortion bass free from the screech!
OKAY! Well, in the last 5 days I have ruled out ground loops, bad cables, power conditioning, outside interference. I got my list down to: pc PSU, pc USB bus/motherboard issue or the ASIO drivers for the soundcard. The soundcard itself was ruled out, because direct monitor had no noise
