I will use funds from this award to continue documenting wildfire-related stories. Thank you to everyone who supported me along the way. This is a milestone within my artistic practise. Photography hasn't been easy, but moments like these give me energy to continue on.
Fairy Creek is an ancient forest on Vancouver Island. It hosts 2000-year-old trees that are under threat of being logged. Throughout the pandemic, a diverse group of activists protected the Fairy Creek area via blockades and unified civil disobedience tactics.
I'm honoured to be a 2025 Leica Women Foto Project Awardee. I'm especially grateful that Leica highlighted the significance of my subjects' environmental struggles. leica-camera.com/en-US/leica-...

My California fire work will be featured at the Phodar Biennial in Sofia, Bulgaria. My images show The Mountain Fire as it struck Camarillo, California in November 2024, the day after Trump's election. More than 240 structures burned.
Family Affair airs tonight! I had the pleasure of capturing stills. Watch it on Lifetime.

My latest publication with the Washington Post:
I photographed this image on Jan.7, in the Palisades. A hellish 24 hours followed. Be safe. Be prepared. More fire weather is expected to continue in SoCal starting tomorrow. www.washingtonpost.com/weather/2025...
This has been a tragic past 2 weeks. I had no idea this type of devastation created by fire could be possible. My heart goes out to all of those who've been affected by this catastrophe. Proud to have work with The Sunday Times on this very important story.

Proud to have made it into the Washington Post's top 11 photos of last week with a photo from Altadena. I'm truly sorry that for the loss of that wonderful neighbourhood. Altadena was (is) a Los Angeles gem.

While Canadian authorities actively censored our fire zones from fire-trained members of the press, I struggled with access. I only managed to capture these images by unrelentingly approaching the fire zones from different roads throughout different times of the day.
I'm honoured to be shortlisted for one of the World's top photo awards: The Sony World Photography Awards, under the Wildlife & Nature category, for my wildfire coverage in Alberta, Canada during May 2023.
