you're telling me i gotta start working monday to friday now.... . i haven't done that in like a decade... . i've always worked 12 hour shifts where i can at least have 3-4 days off in the week.. . . IT'S ALL I KNOW

but it's stuff like this that i gotta unlearn when it comes to writing my own novel 🫠 gotta make sure i'm not rambling too much and that every scene actually moves the story forward or contributes for the characters' development etc

and with fanfic, there's not as much pressure to have to cut out "unnecessary" scenes because it can be as indulgent as you want it to be. if anything, i've always written my chapters to be loooong because 1. i couldn't shut up, and 2. more food for the readers

when i reread my fanfics i notice that i spent the majority of the time just writing about what the characters are thinking/doing and that was much easier than having to also describe environments and build up lore, which you have to do for original projects 🫠

really underestimated how much harder it is to write an original novel compared to fanfic
